"Absolutely Fantastic I have worked with many wonderful contractors over the years but Rick Cox (dba Carolina Carpenter) is at the top of the list. He and his son, Josh, are extremely talented, resourceful and get the job done at a reasonable cost. They and the electrician, plumber and other professionals they use are delightful to work with and of the highest honesty and integrity. In June 2018 my wife and I purchased a house in Connestee Falls, Brevard, NC which was beautifully located but in need a great deal of work. After interviewing a number of contractors, we chose Rick because of his directness, obvious competence and easy manner. The project cost six figures and encountered many setbacks as removal of walls and floors exposed poor electrical work and many other preexisting deficiencies. However, in each case, Rick, Josh and his associates developed creative solutions and, as we went along, they helped us refine our vision of what we wanted so that the finished product far exceeded our initial expectations. With his fine carpentry expertise, Rick provided a new beamed ceiling and log mantle and wood work around the new living room fireplace which is itself the artistic focal point of the room. He also transformed an eye-sore half wall into a beautiful built-in cabinet which is integral to the new dining area. Rick and Josh work quietly and efficiently and are upfront about timelines and their availability. In fact, when the demands of a difficult new client caused them to fall behind the timeline they set, they worked on weekends to get current. "Geek Construction we’re terrific. In the aftermath of Helene, we feared it would be quite a while before our roof got repaired, but met with Carol and Mitch, who assured us they had several great teams out fixing all kinds of damage. There were some tricky aspects, as we live on a steep slope, and some wood support beams were bent by the tree strike. Cam was our team’s leader and he was great, explained everything they were doing, and the repair is so good that you can’t tell the roof was ever damaged.
