"Once again and with the highest confidence, we hired Russell's Contracting to convert our back entrance into a more open, useful mudroom. As promised, they arrived on time on the expected date and started by sealing off the back entrance for dust. The demolition of the closet was first done, and then the rehab began. I was amazed at the level of detail necessary to make the new mudroom perfect. From fixing the ceiling to installing new walls, taping and sanding, painting, new baseboards, and moving the overhead light, it was fun to watch. Colby was professional, exacting, efficient, clean, and asked all the right questions to ensure we were happy with the result. The new mudroom is exactly what we wanted. In addition, we asked Russell's to help us figure out how to make our open staircase to the second floor safer. Keith, Colby, and Max designed and installed a custom-built, stair-to-ceiling railing system that looks great and provides the necessary safety we were looking for. They also made it removable to accommodate large objects up and down stairs. The amount of time they spent was crazy, and the amount of math they did to ensure it was plumb and solid was above and beyond our expectations. My house was built in 1933, and this railing system looks like it could have been original to the house. It is a masterpiece. "Garrett and his team removed a load bearing wall for us to create a larger living room. The job required demo, architect drawings, inspection, installing LVL beams, adding recessed lights, replacing wood flooring, and drywall. The whole job took about 4-5 weeks. Garrett walked us through the whole process and was always very prompt. If he said he would show up at 9 AM, he would show up at 9 AM. He was also very upfront about our costs?no surprises. Our new living room looks great! I highly recommend Garrett for any renovations!"

"We met Dan months before the project was scheduled to start and he knew our deadline was 7/9 when our first weekly vacation renter was due to arrive. Our main issues were: He was a week late starting Didn't show up on several days (had to take his son to get his COVID shot, several days it was too hot, heavy traffic, etc) Ignored my detailed instructions/drawings and we lost time because he plumed a double vanity for only 1 sink, told us we could buy any standard shower door from Lowe's only to learn AFTER the shower had been framed that it required a custom built door, forgot to tile the accent color stripe in the shower, miscalculated the amount of shower tile needed requiring me to drive 3 hours RT to purchase extra tile and deliver it to him. Skim coat on the ceiling was done poorly, the door to the bathroom didn't open all the way so we had to hire someone after Dan left to shave it down for us. He was supposed to finish by July 9th and didn't finish until Sept 9th!!!! had to give renters $3000 off because they had no toilet or shower. I split the difference with him and took $1500 off his bill and he was not happy. I should have taken the entire amount off. He might be OK for smaller jobs, but he is not focused enough and doesn't work a full day (usually 8 AM -1 PM) or even a full week. If he takes work outside of NH, he should have his plumbing/electrical license so he doesn't have to rely on outside contractors. We suffered because he didn't hold ME licenses and wasn't well connected w/ local contractors in ME."
