"Thank you so much for first being willing to put in a water heater that I had purchased, then picking it up so quickly & installing it. (Within 24 hrs). None of the other plumbers were willing to do all that. J & M Plumbing is a 5 star company with 5 star service. They go the extra mile, above & beyond, with affordable, fair pricing. Highly recommend."

"First, they were available when we needed a plumber and second-they came very fast. They did do a good job from what we can tell and were very friendly. The only downside was that the bill we were given and paid immediately was not correct. They called us to say they had overcharged us on an item and undercharged us on others and didn't charge the labor. They would send another bill out. Not so good."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Wells, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
