"Since we are local, they were able to work us into their schedule sooner than planned.  A bunch of guys showed up the first day and they did almost the entire thing in one day.  Just a few guys showed up the second day to finish things up.  They broke a stone on our retaining wall when backing out of the driveway and had it replaced within a few days - at no cost or inconvenience to us.  The ground was left clean and our flower beds were undamaged.  Excellent service and very professional. <br />"

"There were some problems, but Pella and the manager addressed the immediately and steps were taken to correct the problem. When the front entry door came, the glass was edged in silver instead of the brass I chose, and the three point locking system was not installed. They had to order another door, which took an additional 4 weeks, which I was not happy about, but when the door came, it was gorgeous. The back door was not drilled for a dead bolt lock, but the installer was able to fix that right away. I'm now having a problem with my front storm door; the sun shines on it all day, and it is not closing properly. This does not happen in the winter when it  is cold. They have ordered a certain type of metal so they can move the door over. This should be fixed when I get my new patio door. <br />      I have a lot of faith in them and love their products, so I ordered a new patio door, which will be installed on July 30th. <br /> I am having the same installers put in the patio door, as they did an awesome job! <br /> My salesman for both my order last September and this month for my patio door is Tony Magnelli. He is knowledgeable, takes his time, and explains everything very thoroughly and answered all my questions. <br /> The manager Dave DeSimone, came out immediately and inspected the storm door, and was apologetic and helpful in getting this problem resolved. <br /> And last but not least, my installers, Phil and John were the best! Very meticulous in their work, and did a wonderful job! Cleaned up everything and vacuumed inside and out. I have requested them to install my patio door this month. <br /> Although I did have some problems, they were not neglected, and the team worked on them right away. Pella is a good company, and I am satisfied with the windows, and all the people that were involved! <br />"

"As far as their products for roofing they seem great quality. However super overpriced. To the point they can come down 15k+ in their estimate. However not why I give them a horrible review. We wanted a quote for a metal roof- not a FIVE hour meeting and presentation. No indication of this length of time was given when making the appointment. Insisted on both spouses present meaning we had to basically let our kids watch tv the whole time and feed them a bunch of snacks bc I couldn't leave to even make lunch without them stopping their talks. Pushy. Did not need or want a power point presentation comparing their company and prices to others (which by the way they inflated to double what it's costing us). So nope would not use them. In this age of three young kids and little time they were a total waste of a day and would have very much appreciated a shorter meeting and perhaps an email or text vs showing up at our house again the following day with a better offer"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Wellsboro, PA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
