"In preparation we moved everything in the basement away from the walls like they asked, although some of the shelves that I built could not be moved more than ~24 inches away from one of the walls. The next day the crew of three came over promptly at 8 AM. I told the crew leader about the shelves and he said that the space may be sufficient depending on the how far the footer underneath came in from the walls (as it turned out it was fine). They also moved the heavy concrete utility sink out of the way without damaging it. They crew hung plastic to partition the untouched sections of the basement and the rest of the house. I was told that the job was to take two days and it did. They cleaned up as best they could--vacuuming the stairs and didn't leave any debris or trash inside or out, although there was a light coating of dust on the everything in the basement which I expected. When they finished they walked me though the basement and everything looked great so I was glad to pay them as agreed in the contract. I am very pleased with the job, although I was slightly dissatisfied with the concrete pored over the drain because it wasn't always level with the existing floor and wasn't totally troweled smooth (I ended up floating the sections of the patch myself to level and get a better finish). Overall I think those are minor criticisms it was was a more than satisfactory experience."

"This work took place in my parents' basement, which is filled with decades' worth of stuff.  We'd always had water in the basement after heavy rains.  Sometimes it was just a matter of a damp floor or a puddle in one corner, but other times there was so much standing water that they could fill and empty a large Shop Vac more than once.  After years of my parents coping with the water themselves, we are preparing to sell the home, and we knew that buyers might be scared away by a damp/wet basement.  So I researched local basement waterproofing companies on Angie's List, and after obtaining two quotes from highly regarded companies, we decided to hire AJ.  

On the appointed day, AJ and crew arrived on time and immediately got to work moving items away from the walls.  They wrapped the items in the center and the stairway leading up to the main floor of the house to prevent dust intrusion.  They temporarily installed fans to blow out dust  while using the jackhammer.

They chiseled out a trench, neatly channeled around two water tanks next to the wall, hauled out the broken concrete, and drilled holes in the cinderblock foundation for the water to drain into the trench.  They set the perforated PVC drain pipe and backfilled with crushed stone, installed a membrane on the wall to direct any other water into the trench, installed a sump pump, and installed plumbing to discharge water to the outside of the home.  All of this took several hours.  I didn't watch every step of the process, but they called me downstairs to show me their progress after having sprayed down the walls with an antimicrobial substance.  At that point they were in the process of backfilling over the crushed stone bed with concrete.  The concrete work was neatly done and the crew cleaned up all the plastic sheeting they had used.  

It seemed to me that the crew worked efficiently together.  There didn't seem to be any lag time because there were always multiple tasks being completed at the same time.  I think that's how the entire job could be completed in one day.  It's a relief to finally have this problem addressed and I feel confident that this basement will not have water intrusion problems anymore.  "

"Hired them for 3 projects I have installed this basement waterproofing solution in 2 homes. System speaks for itself. Nothing better on the market. Work was first rate. Expectations were presented prior to the project. Details on what would happen and how the project would go. Would not hesitate to use again ERV installed New basement egress. This project did not go as planned, but not at the fault of basement systems. Was originally supposed to get a BILCO door but due to unforseen issues, that was not able to happen. They ended up installing a new staircase from my basement to ground level. Work was first rate and ended up better than a bilco door. Company re landscaped and everything is as it was. All work performed was top notch and no issues on anything they have done"

The salesperson, Dave Shiflette came out for an initial visit & advised me to address external gutter & drainage issues before addressing it from the inside. He advised me to first try to keep water away from my basement before spending money to redirect it away. This earned my trust- big time!!! I addressed the above ground issues & still got water in my basement. It was time to admit defeat, accept that it was due to hydrostatic pressure (water coming in below underneath foundation), and call in the experts! The crew was great! The foreman updated me during every major step. Things were clean for the most part. I don’t hold the crew responsible for dirt & minor mud because they had to go to/from mud due to recent rain. Still- There is room for improvement on the dust area. I felt so confident in my salesperson’s level of knowledge & level of sincerity that I didn’t bother getting other quotes. This is rare for me. There’s a bit of improvement to be left in the dirt/dust area, though. It’s my only gripe. I did have to run my shop vac through furniture & other materials throughout two floors affected. Again- we did have rain beforehand, but we did provide a clear clean driveway access to minimize dirt entry into our home. On to more important matters… It rained for 4+ days about 7 days after our install. We’d normally get about 200- 500 gallons of water in our finished basement during such a storm. We got zero water puddles above ground during the storm!!! I did panic because no water made its way to the sump pump well, while we got a few wet spots on the above-ground area. These “wet spots” were just damp areas in the concrete. They weren’t puddles of water. I panicked & sent messages to our salesperson. He forwarded to management. They sent out their most experienced foreman who determined the the system was working (after testing & showing me a live result with a water hose pumping water through the area of concern). The verdict: concrete takes 30 days to fully cure. The spots haven’t cured yet! I was so relieved!!! The system works! My days of torture in the basement are over! My instincts to go with the salesperson were right!!! I’d like to thank Jay for assuring me that they are a family business that cares about clients, cares for their customers & STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!!! I give these guys a perfect rating!!!"
