"Tyler looked over requested projects (repair porch, rescreen porch, replace deck). Good options suggested with no pressure. Started project in a timely manner. Richard, the carpenter, does very detailed work. Cleans work area every trip and kept me informed about the project. Tyler checked on the project. He was available for any questions or concerns. Will definitely recommend Spinner Construction."

"They make life easy and projects exceptional. Grateful to have them in Lexington, SC! We worked with Palmetto Renovations from fall of 2023 through February of this year and we should have connected with their design specialty showroom and staff years ago as our home has never looked better. Our kitchen finally features real stone quartzite with a blend of stunning LVP waterproof flooring, elegant tiled backsplash and an entirely new lighting system from chandeliers to the under cabinet lighting. They replaced a window in the bay area to match the exterior clad. All trim was stained and by the time things were wrapped up, there were no imperfections to even address. It was an experience to brag about."

"Let me start off by saying I have never written a review for anything, but Lakeside offers 50 dollars for any review, good or bad, so why not. I'm about as skeptical and stubborn as they come (and proud of it), so when a salesman shows up at my door offering something that sounds too good to be true, normally they would get a no thank you, and have a nice day. Maybe it was I was concerned about the condition of my roof or the thought of protecting and adding value to my biggest investment but for whatever reason when Kevin Cooke showed up at my door saying he could get me a new roof for the cost of my deductible, I was interested (but skeptical). Kevin explained the process thoroughly, and against my better judgement, I took a "chance". Lakeside had their inspector out the next day to look at my roof, I indeed had storm damage and the ball started rolling from there. Kevin again explained the process a few more times to me, and kudos to him for being patient, informative, and not pushy at all. After deciding I wanted to submit an insurance claim, Kevin handled all the heavy lifting with the insurance company. After the adjuster approved a full roof replacement, it was about 2 weeks and work started. As far as the actual roofers (im guessing typical roofing sub contractors), the work looks good, clean up was good, no leaks after a couple storms and comes with a big piece of mind with a 5 yr craftmanship warranty. Only "issue" Id say was I had requested to Tom (project manager) that id rather them leave the rain diverters off as I was going to be installing gutters. They ended up getting put on with the new roof, which wasnt a biggie i figured I could figure out how to take them off myself later, but a week later I got a call checking on how the work and experience was and i meantioned the rain diverters. It wasnt a few hours later Tom himself was at my house to remove them, kudos to him. Really amazing customer service, and I have no fear if a problem ever arises down the road that they will take care of it. Overall very good experience, and I have a brand new, good looking roof all for the price of my deductible, just as Kevin said. My advice for what its worth is dont hesitate to do business with this company, keep an open mind when Kevin or anyone of their other salesman show up at your door, and for Godsakes invite them inside into the AC, unlike me who made poor Kevin sweat to death because of my skeptisim, door to door sales is tough especially when its 100 degrees outside."

"Payload Construction was one of five companies my wife and I looked at for replacing a front porch, new deck and lighted walkway. One of the reasons we selected them was the comments of people who had chose them to handle their needs. Let me say that our expectations were exceeded in every respect. First, the cost of the project was fully explained and agreed upon. Absolutely no issues and I might add that the final payment was not requested nor expected until David make a final check off with us. We were fully satisfied before we ended the project. David and his team kept us fully informed, allowed for us to suggest and to make changes along the way. As this project was at our lake house, which is not our primary residence, we were not always at the building site. I received a daily briefing with pictures every day to keep me informed as to the progress. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give David personally and Payload construction as a company a solid 15. Anyone that chooses this company for their needs will join with me and countless others in acknowledging that you will have made a good decision. I am available to speak with anyone regarding David and Payload. You may call me at the church number below. FAQs for deck or porch projects in West Columbia, SC

Northern white cedar is the most affordable cedar decking type and delivers exceptional value with low material expenditures. This option provides proven cost efficiency, meets essential durability standards, and is easy to paint or stain to meet your aesthetic preferences. By comparison, eastern red and western red cedar supply extra longevity and richer texture for a modest increase in investment.

Yes, cedar is a great choice for decking material. It offers a timeless look and natural resistance to decay and insect damage. Keep in mind that cedar requires regular maintenance, like resealing and cleaning, to keep it in top shape. With proper care, a cedar deck can enhance the appeal and value of your outdoor space for years to come.

No, cedar is not pressure-treated because it contains oils and tannins that naturally resist insect damage, rot, and decay. With regular maintenance, including annual cleaning and resealing every two to three years, cedar maintains its structural integrity and pleasing appearance for 10 to 15 years or more. Cedar’s natural durability, without need for chemical treatments, makes it an environmentally friendly option for outdoor structures like decks.

You should stain or seal your cedar deck every two to three years to maintain its appearance and longevity. This helps protect the wood from moisture, mold, and environmental damage, preserving its natural color and extending its lifespan. Regular maintenance keeps your outdoor space both attractive and durable season after season.
