He was the man that came up for the estimate and the one who did the job with his brother and dad. We called other companies for quotes and either they never returned the call or couldn’t come to give us an estimate for a week or longer! "I had my whole yard fenced in originally with vinyl and chain link fencing by Paragon Fence. Two posts of the vinyl portion of the fence heaved out of the ground because the original company did not dig the posts at the required depth. When this happened, the original company did not help me so I contacted Durham. They came out and repaired the 2 sections and did a good job. I live in a high point of the city with a lot of heavy winds during the winter and the fence repair has held up very well. I appreciate their help since most companies will not repair a shoddy job done by other companies. "Reasonably well, once the boss arrived. They charge by the truckload, at $600 per truckload and send a crew of three guys. When they started, they were not packing the truck tightly at all and my wife mentioned this to them. The initial crew was college kids working for the summer, and they told her that there was no reason for them to pack it any tighter! When my wife poitned out the obvious, that it was costing us more and that she wanted them to re-pack, the crew leader suggested calling the boss, and my wife readily agreed. When he arrived he was courteous and professional and made a deal with us to charge for no more than two and one-half truckloads. This seemed reasonable to us. They guys were then very helpful and courteous as they worked to throw out our old refrigerator/ freezer, which took some doing. They arranged for the recycle guy to come and pick up the metal appliances.
They also came back the following morning as promised to pick up remaining items. The crew leader told us that if they forgot anything, to call them and it would be part of the job. When I discovered that they (and me) forgot about items on the outside side of their house, I called and left one message asking them to return, but they did not. I did not call them again, as we were caught up in more moving details. I felt that they did a reasonable job, but I wish they would have done so from the start without prompting -- I had several harried, excited phone calls from my wife while I was driving to our NJ home.
The boss/ owner is good -- I recommend dealing directly with him if possible, and otherwise escalating to him if issues arise.
They did make themselves available on one day's notice, when we needed them -- our initial plans for clean-out fell through, and they had the crew at our place the next day. This is appreciated.
