"Incredible experienceâ ¦here is the full story. I live in a condo in Manhattan, new construction and just moved in. While the place was new, it lacked any home theatre system or any home technology. I was looking to have in-wall/ceiling speakers installed in several rooms (including a complete home theatre), get a projector, great wifi system, cameras installed and basic central control system. I had many vendors come in for quotes including the building recommended company and several other shops I got recommendations from â most of which that did high end installs using control-4 or Savant systems. Of the 5 vendors I had, Victor & Elias (and their team) came in and sent a detailed quote the next day. Everyone else took 5-25 days for them to send a) super long quotes with a lot of unnecessary stuff (thinking I was naïve), b) lots of stuff I ended up realizing I didnâ t need and b) very high prices. Initially, I was a little skeptical of House of Audio because their proposal was just an email and they didnâ t seem to have the marketing polish other companies had. After struggling to find someone else as a reasonable cost (like HoA), I called Victor to work out a few details and got started. Their proposal lined itemed everything out, several of the items were lower price than best online price or ebay, like a high-end sony projector was 1k less than if I went to Amazon or Best Buy. They were ready to start quickly, they didnâ t want anything upfront and were willing to break the job into two parts â the first where they did all the wiring and the second where they installed the equipment. They did a fantastic job. They installed all the equipment at the top of my closet so we could still use the coat closet (other companies said we needed a large rack). The speaker are flush and look/sound great. They did an incredible job installing a projector inside the wall of my ceiling with a small hole for the lens â itâ s completely hidden â itâ s amazing. The nest cameras wiring is also hidden, the wifi is installed behind the walls so you donâ t have to see any of the transmitters and I can control everything using very simple technologyâ ¦.Sonos, Spotify & Alexa; lastly, they gave me this remote that controls the main systemsâ ¦easy to use, works great and when combined with Apple TV â my 6 year has a perfect command of the entire system. When they were installing everything â if I didnâ t like it or wanted something different, they didnâ t make me feel badâ ¦they were happy to make me happy, even if I was a bit crazy. We did have a few problems. A few days in the projector started to not work randomly and the sound was a little off. Lastly, we couldnâ t control the volume with the APPLE TV remote. I called up Elias and he was â Johnny on the spotâ . He came over a few days later and discovered the brand new Denon receiver was broken. So he drove to best buy, got me a temporary (lower end one) and fixed the system. A week or so later, he came back, installed the new replacement receiver plus gave me a fan system in the closet to make sure nothing gets too hot. He also made it so I can control everything from the Apple TV remote. They ate the cost for the best buy receiver temp. Their pricing was close to half of others including all the labor and coming back. They didnâ t sell me anything I didnâ t need, everything works great and only got really expensive stuff for the core items (projector, receiver, speakers). One of the other vendors was trying to sell me a Cisco WIFI system that had an annual license feeâ ¦meanwhile, the Ubiquity one they gave me is better and less than half the cost. Very happyâ ¦highly recommend them."
