"Tar Heel Basement Systems has done both a foundation stabilization and then a year later, crawl space encapsulation. The James, James, Jeffery, and Terell team was definitely the 'A-Team'. They were all great to work with, pleasant, efficient, and hard-working, and went above and beyond in the quality of their work and attention to detail. Thank You 'A' Team!!"

"I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update as of 4/23/2024 they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I didn't and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!"

"What I wanted was to stop the bounce in my dining room floor.   The china on the hutch rattled when one walked near it.  I also had the same problem in several parts of the living room.  Kerry came over and convinced me to do the additional work, advising that it would keep everything dry, keep the wood stable, and, prevent mold.   <br /> Work started 13 January 2015.   The project was not completed during the time scheduled (13-15 Jan).  The team had to come back, on three more occasions.  I foolishly paid in full on the 15th of January.  There was rework required because the concrete bases for the piers were not up to code, and the plastic was in some form of disarray.   Pressure treated wood was not used for the crawl space door and the concrete around some of the vents had to be fixed.     <br /> Overall, there were four different teams, on four occasions.  After the originally scheduled work, which took place during the week, everything else was worked on a Saturday.   The team did not show on one Saturday, and the last workday had to be rescheduled by Crawl Space due to some scheduling problem.   The last team here in September worked hard to fix the problems,  To their credit, they wanted to make sure I was satisfied.     The bounce in the floor is not perfect, but it is finally better.   <br /> Perhaps if the last team did the work in the beginning, I would not have had these problems, and my grading of Crawl Space would be better.    Workers smoking on my property will never be given an A rating by me for Professionalism..   <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The company installed a dehumidifier in the crawl space and closed off all vents to correct and keep in check moisture under the house._x000D_|_x000D_|Also, they were to dig trenches in front of the house to divert water from the house but did not do that part because the "front guy" did not figure the drainage plan correctly. This person and the company were notified of this and it was to be re-designed and completed at a later date. As of November 4, 2013 we have not received a call to schedule this part of the original contract dated 08-26-13."

"I am so thankful to have found Roland!!! He has done several jobs for me at rental properties and now he is my go to person for all HVAC and home repairs/maintenance!! He is reliable, trustworthy, dependable & honest. If he says he will be there & he can do it, he will! For 6 of my units, I had made a small list of items that I knew needed fixing. I asked Roland to check everything & he took pictures & sent me a list of additional items. He did not try to upsell me, he was honest & I greatly appreciated everthing. He sent before & after pictures. I felt like he was treating my home like he would his own. In today's world it is hard to find good honest people/workers, Roland is one!"

"This company specializes in building insulation: I found them through the Duke Energy website. Matt Phillips contacted me right away after I provided project information on Duke Energy's referral page. The work was completed in about a day in a professional, neat, and technically correct way by a crew of three. Insulating a home isn't rocket science, but it needs to be done right to be maximally effective: non specialists--or DIY types--won't necessarily know all the tricks of the trade."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Williamston, NC

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
