"Eric from Brick Industries was amazing! My husband and I bought our first home and unfortunately needed to have asbestos removed. Eric was able to give me an estimate on the cost within two days after being contacted. We closed on a Friday and by that Tuesday the asbestos was completely gone. Brick Industries quickly followed through with all necessary documentation via e-mail. We would highly recommend Brick Industries."

"Joseph and his crew were hired to remove asbestos at one house and test for lead at another house. They were on time, professional, and well priced. I was happy with their services and will turn to them again for any future need"

"Montclair township has a requirement for landlords to perform a visual lead paint inspection on a regular basis. Christian did this work for me, walking through my apartments and letting me know what spots needed to be touched up with paint. Then he provides a certificate to send to the town. Christian is communicative, reliable, prompt, and professional. He turned the certificate around really fast, too. I can’t recommend him more highly to anyone who needs environmental inspections in their home."

"I contacted Doug Ferry on very short notice after my home inspector found what he thought might be asbestos in the HVAC ducts carved into the concrete foundation of a home that I was in the process of purchasing in Willingboro, NJ. I called him after hours and he returned my call in minutes. The following day Doug was in the property performing his tests and found asbestos not only in the HVAC ducts but in two different flooring tiles (which he found on his own without my having to ask.) He also suggested testing some ceiling tiles but those turned out to be clear. Long story short: Doug gave me the information I needed in order to make my purchase decision quickly, courteously and with exemplary professionalism. If you suspect that you might have or be looking to buy or sell a home that might contain asbestos look no further. I could not recommend his services more highly."

"He went above and beyond with the service by going over to the chemical analysis company and personally asking for the results as they were dragging their feet a bit. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. "

"Thank you to other reviewers for steering us to Real Estate Inspections. We hired them to inspect a large home we are buying in Haverford. The scheduling process was easy and efficient. Rick answered the phone and explained that they could provide all that I needed: home, termite, radon and pool inspections and all for a fair price. Rick then worked with me to set a date and time in the next few days that met my scheduling needs. Rick contacted my realtor directly to schedule for the radon person to arrive a few days before the inspection, so that the radon kit could be picked up at inspection. Flynn came out to do the inspection - on time and ready to go to work. My husband followed Flynn around during much of the inspection and he was very good at providing feedback both positive and negative about what he saw. Flynn let us know immediately that he thought the roof was at the end of it's life and that the fireplaces had problems. He also provided us on the spot with a list of contractors including roofers that Real Estate Inspections recommends. His on the spot feedback allowed us to quickly call a couple of roofers and a fireplace company to come out for second tier inspections and bids - which allowed us to make an informed response to the seller all within our tight inspection time frame. Flynn then provided us with a complete detailed written report within 48 hours. He was very responsive, when I called him two times after receiving the report with questions. Flynn is very knowledgable and great about sharing information not only about defects but how to best care for your house moving forward. During this process, we also had the opportunity to meet Pete, one of the owners who made sure that all our needs were being met. We were pleased to have his assistance."

"I received the testing kit in just a few short business days with all of the necessary items to perform a quick test on the mold I had present in my home. I followed the easy directions and sent the tests back in. I got the results within 5 business days or so and they were very detailed. It was helpful to learn exactly what type of mold I was dealing with and at a low cost. Much cheaper and faster than what a lot of the local companies wanted to charge me! ($450) <br />"

"What a great company. We would recommend them to anyone who needed a home inspector. He was thorough and explained everything as he went through the home from what he was doing and why, to what he was seeing. The report we received was so detailed and thorough, very easy to read and had great pictures to show what he was describing in his report. He also recommended a Level 2 Chimney inspection which was definitely great advice since there was over $16,000 in repair work needed. I highly recommend this inspector."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Willingboro, NJ

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
