"Matt and I discussed the potential work over the phone, and he was able to give me an accurate estimate of cost, so I gave him the go-ahead to do the work.  He arrived on time with an assistant and got started right away.  In all, the work to strip and finish the tub took about 4 hours, as Matt told me to expect.  I believe drying time was 24 hours.
The results are terrific.  The tub looks good as new - shiny and bright  As an added bonus, the bottom of the tub is textured, meaning I no longer have to mess with a plastic bathmat. 
The tub is original to the home and, over time, the stopper in the drain disappeared.  I bought the home several years ago and have had to use a rubber stopper in order to fill the tub.  You know the know kind...a white rubber stopper complete with a chain.  Matt turned me onto a company who sell a cool fix for that problem.  I ordered a new drain, in the finish of my choice, that glued right on top of the existing drain (with a built in adhesive) including an integrated pop-up stopper and a strainer.  I bought a 2 piece set that included an overflow to match the drain and the total cost was around $50.  Thanks for that tip Matt!

"Not all that well. First, the cost was much higher than other quotes I received. Since I don't live in the place, I had a limited time to meet there. The gentlemen (two of them) were punctual so that was good. The problem was that the quote was high pressure and "I'll do it now for a premium". That's fine, but customers don't like negotiating in front of something broken in their residence. Moreover, they had a hard time installing the hose and it leaked (yes, they blamed a faulty replacement hose I had purchased, and they made me acknowledge as a CYA) but based on the total interaction I have some doubts. The biggest problem I have was the disparity on his quote for a new faucet altogether. His quote was about $550. I awarded that bid to a contractor that charged less than half that AND performed extra services. I wasted $220 on this visit so I can't recommend this vendor."
