From the first email, gunnar was responsive and patient, explaining the process and the costs. There were no hidden costs, which is refreshing from a contractor. Everything promised was delivered. Jorge was on time, made sure my bathroom and condo were protected with plastic tarps and drop cloths, and gave me updates as he went along. The process is kind of smelly, but they even have an exhaust tube they run from the bathroom to a window so the fumes go outside. Jorge cleaned up when he finished and you honestly could not tell he'd been in my condo. The final product was gorgeous, and the price also included removing the shower door, a color, and adding slip resistance. Would I hire again? Heckie yes. Would I recommend? Heckie yes. BTW in reading other posts I discovered The Surface Doctors glaze other things like sinks and tile."

While stripping the old paint off of the tub (it had been refinished before) he discovered the drain was corroded and needed to be replaced prior to refinishing. Matt stopped his work and I had to summon a plumber to replace the drain. It was a major pain and it took some time as the drain had been in there for over 20 years. Matt came back one week later and finished the job. I was not charged extra for the second trip and the bathtub came out beautiful. Matt kept us informed during the entire job and explained the process. We were very happy with the results and highly recommend Great Lakes Refinishing.
