Despite it already being December, John came to inspect a couple of days later and told me we needed a liner for the chimney furnace and that it was a priority safety-wise, despite needing a creosote cleaning in the fireplace. "We were hesitant to go with Chimney Savers mainly because of the price - it was thousands more than the nearest competitive bid.  However, in retrospect, we made the right call. <br /> We have a chimney with two fireplaces, one on each floor. The flues were in bad shape when we moved in, which we knew from the home inspection, but we didn't know how bad. 2 of the contractors that we had come in admitted that they couldn't even do the job.  Another could do it, but it would involve removing large sections of the existing chimney, indoors, and replacing with new bricks - we didn't feel like we wanted to go that route. <br /> Mark came in and explained how he would get the job done without destroying existing bricks. "Total Chimney installed a new stainless steel cap over my three flue chimney. An initial misunderstanding about price was quickly and fairly resolved with the owner. The three crews which came to my house were all very professional, although the lead tech at the first visit did not measure, so the special order cap did not fit and a second one had to be ordered. During the whole process, my phone calls to the office were quickly returned and communication was excellent. I am very pleased with how everything was handled and recommend Total Chimney."
