"We hired Woods Home Services in 2006 to install a sprinkler system on our lawn. We have had no problems until this past week. We had a water leak and called the city of Bedford. They came out and said it was the sprinkler system, and they turned the water off until we could get it repaired. It was Friday and we envisioned a weekend without water. We called the installers, Woods, and told them our problem. Within the hour, a young man named Trey Woods was calling to say he was on the way. He stopped the water leak and turned the water back on. Mind you it has been several years since they installed. We were told *sorry for the inconvenience*, and he is contacting us this week to come back to repair the pipe and turn the sprinkler system back on. We are so very impressed with their professionalism, and cannot say enough good things about them. Trey worked in the mist, mud, and cold so that we could be comfortable for the weekend. Integrity is the word that comes to my mind. Installed in 2006 and came within an hour to repair in 2021."

"In my previous effort to build a living fence two of three trees died twice after 6 months! Wade Pryor’s installed five tall and very tall trees last Spring have survived nicely after the first year. I credit him for proper preparation of the holes, height of root ball and installation of drip irrigation system. He also gave detailed care and feeding instructions, including a reminder last fall and guidance to ensure their survival. I can highly recommended orking with Pryor’s Nursery"

"<p>She is wonderful. She did a huge proposal and I think we are going to contract with her. She hasn?t provided the service yet, but she was really great. It is not only for redesigning the garden, but also for fixing up the irrigation issues we have. Our whole garden gets collected with puddles of water which makes staying on the garden quite impossible. Her proposal was for digging inside and to put something in order to get the water out. So, she has quoted $10000 for the whole thing. She responded on time. The offer came in within 24 hours. When we had some questions, she called us back right away. She spent all the time to answer all our questions. She is agreeable. She has been very professional. She seemed to know exactly what she was talking about and seemed like she could show us the results. </p>"

"They did a great job removing tree branches, but had forgotten to bring hedge trimmers for the boxwood hedge, so that didn't go as well. <br /> They borrowed my hedge trimmer, but their own would have been longer and better for shaping if they'd remembered to bring them. If you have them do both tree and yard work on the same visit, remind them the day before!! <br /> I think they mostly do tree work. They had a bucket truck which made it very easy to reach high branches and trim them back. They were very willing to let me look at the views opening up and request where to trim further. I added another pair of trees to the work while they were here, and the added cost was very fair. There was one tree they could not drive the bucket truck to, so they had to climb it, and that went well too. <br /> Scheduling the initial estimate was easy. However when I said to go ahead, and they were deciding when to come out to do the job, the office could never tell me when the scheduling decision would be made. Eventually they called me about 2-3 weeks before the date they chose. The timing was fine, and I wasn't in a hurry, but I wish the office could tell customers when to expect the work to be scheduled. <br />"

"Joe Fox talked with us about our problem with drainage in the back yard, and our dissatisfaction with the present flagstone patio (it had a newer section that did not match the original). He discussed possible solutions with us, paying close attention to what we wanted. We came up with a great plan. Joe and his men rerouted a drain pipe, installed a french drain, laid a brick patio, and redid the former flagstone patio. They were very hard workers, very neat, cleaned up after themselves every day, and did fabulous and meticulous work. Plus, they were very nice guys. I especially appreciated the fact that they understood what we wanted from an artistic point of view. The work they did blended into our existing design for the back yard. We are very happy with the products used, and the attractiveness of the overall design. Joe Fox and his workers also cut our grass on a regular basis, and do a great job. <br />"

"Initially, I needed a company to trench a water line to my garden. I contacted a few companies, some didn't respond and some quoted an exorbitant amount of money. Tom Lerch responded quickly and gave me a reasonable quote. Since we were interested in enhancing our backyard entertaining we also had Tom survey our property. He had a lot of opinions and since I had some specific design questions, he offered to put us in touch with a design architecture company. This was probably the only negative part of my overall experience with Lerch Brothers. The design company was talented, but they offered extra design ideas that I didn't request and attempted to bill me for them. This was resolved, but I found the experience a little distasteful. The installation of the garden faucet was seamless and my days of dragging 300 feet of hose is over. After brainstorming, we decided that we wanted to install a custom pergola over a patio. Tom was able to find a company that would design what we desired at a reasonable price. Once we agreed on a plan, things were very efficient afterwards. Each team that arrived for work were respectful to us and our property. They took great care to not disturb areas that were not involved in construction. When hiccups did happen, John Lerch (the project manager) was quick to contact me and resolve the issue. For example, the freight delivery was delayed in Baltimore. Instead of waiting for the local delivery company to find a truck to complete the process he sent his team to retrieve the products. I really appreciated that John was very involved in each step of construction. Even though we are just finishing up with the project, I can look at the overall experience with a great sense of satisfaction. You hear more horror stories about construction/renovation companies. I can definitely gives these guys my 100% support and recommend them to anyone."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Woodsboro, MD

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
