"Updated Review November 2025: Upon my previous concerns, HGE escalated my project to Hunter, who took care of everything with great professionalism. Any issues were resolved and the work is as expected. I'm a much happier client now! He also had a great experience, so when we were preparing to list my husbands home and found ourselves needing to replace a deck roof that started leaking and replace some trim, we went straight to HGE. This time has been a terrible experience. Our project manager was different and just horrible. The crews cancelled on him more than once, his communication was severely lacking, and the work was subpar, far below our previous experiences. Big disappointment. "It went great. I loved that I did not have to follow him around to make sure he was staying busy and that he NOTICED stuff. (He was the one who noticed the exterior flood light was broken, and the one that offered to replace the porch light cover.) I initially hired him because he was the only handyman I contacted who could make it out in less than a week and I was concerned about the water. "During a day when everyone in Pittsburgh was having a leak, they were the only ones to call me back. They came that afternoon to stop the leak and rip out the small area of dry wall. They replaced the part of the roof that needed to be fixed within a week and also repaired the affected area inside the house within a week. I had to call them a few times to remind them to come back to finish the work, but the owner was very sick, so he had a good reason. The job was reasonably priced and they did an A+ job. Highly recommend.

"Painter showed up on time a did a great job. There was a worry at first when he was not sure he could do the repairs to the walls -not enough joint compound he said. But he had just enough to get the job done and the walls look great. Maybe in the future have extra joint compound on hand. The price was a special promotion"

"They had a crew of workers that each took on their specific task on the project.  First removing carpeting, floors in bathrooms and old hardwood floor in kitchen and entrance ways.  Very professionally handled throughout the project.  Very skilled workers.  
They also painted our closet doors.  Fixed a wall and painted where needed.  Great job with that.
Removed all carpeting from steps and also did a great job with hardwood floors on the steps.  New banisters for steps were installed.  Stained and finished.  Beautiful.
Decent size project took them approximately 8 to 9 days.
Not only do they do excellent exterior work on houses but fantastic job with inside work.
