"

WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS COMPANY!!!!

I'd gotten this company confused with a company that I HAD used!!!!

I CAN'T say ANYTHING at all, good OR bad, about American Leak, simply because I hadn't had ANY dealings with them!

Wonderfully! (M & D Leak Seekers, NOT American Leak) I'd had a brand new pump and filter installed on my pool ONE YEAR prior to this service, but had never been able to run it because it would not fill up with water. Something was preventing the water getting from the pool, to the pump. I think the technical term is that the pump would not "prime." For one entire year, I'd had two different pool people TRY to get this pump to run. One of them, the original installer, even sent my FIRST new pump back and installed a second new one, thinking that the new pump was defective. Time & time again, they would come by and TRY to fix this pump, even bringing a special piece of equipment that cost $30,000 with them, to try to solve the problem. At their suggestion, I'd even had my cousin bring his scuba diving equipment, to dive down into the deep end of my pool and unscrew the plate covering the main drain. Still. No luck.

Finally, I called a different pool company but they also couldn't find the problem. They referred me to American Leak Detection. When he (sorry, I forget his name, but he's the owner of American Leak) came out, he probably spent about a good 2 solid hours working on this problem. No fancy or expensive equipment. He felt that something was "blocking" the flow of water and just kept at it, I think by forcing air/water through the lines. FINALLY, he saw something in the line that he could reach. Using a wire coat hanger, he managed to pull out two items that had been the culprits. One was a small plastic toy part. The other was some type of plastic bottle cap that was just the perfect size to block the line. Imagine! I had bought this house with a pool in 2012, only to discover that the pool pump would not work, paid $900+ to have new equipment installed, and had yet, one whole year later, been unable to use my pool! I was SO HAPPY when ALD fixed this problem, I jumped up and down and hugged the guy!!! I can't recommend them highly enough!
"
