"Foundation Recovery Systems did a great job raising our front porch and a section of our driveway in the summer of 2023. Today we had a follow-up inspection performed by Ryan Swift, a service technician with the company. Everything is still looking good and Ryan was very thorough and professional while performing and explaining the inspection. I highly recommend Foundation Recovery Systems."

"Everything went as explained, diagramed, and promised by our System Design Specialist, Mr. Nicolas Hruska. We initially contacted just the top two Foundation Repair Experts listed on Angie's List because we can't afford to have our home repaired by anyone who lacks the proper credentials, staff, tools, training, techniques, supplies, 25 year transferrable warranty, and the hands on experience to deliver all services as promised. We are extremely pleased with the final results to take back our homes basement from poor workmanship done by the original builder and owner of our home back in 1979 We purchased the home in 2001 and unknown to us the foundation had been placed on top of clay based sub-soil which was an acceptable building practice back in 1979. Today's building codes prohibit this careless and costly practice of home site preparation for the homeowner. A word to the wise, do your home work first and then protect the biggest asset that most Americans have, their home. Respectfully, Kenny L. Hutcheson, CMSgt, USAF/USN, Ret. Indianola, Iowa"

"hired to level the drive way slabs adjacent to garage floor and fill gaps between slabs. Did not properly level the slabs near ends of garage. left at about one inch below the floor level of garage.t The technician made mistake in selecting spot to drill holes resulting in lifting slabs more at the center and not at corners. When asked to correct the problem, the tech supervisor became upset and uncourteous. Would accept the mistake. Work quality was below average and tech staff was highly arrogant and uncourageous."

The mudjacking process that Pingel Mudjacking uses works to raise and support settled and uneven concrete by injecting grout under the settled area. This is done by drilling 1 5/8" holes through the surface. Grout is pumped through the slab to float slab in proper place. After mudjacking is complete, holes are patched and textured to match the existing concrete as closely as possible.\n\nLeveled concrete that is at least 10 years old, can be expected to stay in position until the end of its useful life.

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Ames, IA

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
