"McDonough's is my go-to for any drain problems!  The guys who came were very professional, helpful and all around great.  They worked a tough clog out of the drain line coming from the laundry room, then checked the main sewer line from the house and did some preventative clearing on some roots (the house has a history of roots clogging the main line and McDonough's has cleared it twice already, which the guys knew so they checked while they were already there and had the equipment ready).  The work was well done, they replaced some aging parts proactively, and they cleaned everything up like they had never been there.  Fantastic!

They gave me a competitive quote and took care of it right away within 72 hours. They organized all the permits, traffic control, everything. "The only reason I have not given five stars for this service is that the tech did not pay strict-enough attention to social distancing and cleaning procedures during his visit. Isaac was clearly knowledgeable and efficient in tracking down the source of the problem with the furnace humidifier malfunction, but he did not pay close enough attention to maintaining a six foot distance from me and he did not take time to wipe down surfaces after his visit. I had specifically asked the dispatcher about what protocols would be used during the visit, and these were not followed. Otherwise, I would have rated the visit at five stars."

"I found water damage in the morning and after considerable investigation, determined that it was from a pinhole leak in a water pipe in the basement.  I had to turn off the main water valve to stop the leak, so I needed to repair this quickly.  I have used Burkhardt Plumbing before with success, so I called them again.  They were able to come that afternoon ( I called around noon) and Dean arrived within the promised time slot. 



He fixed the leak, and also advised me that it was probably due to insulation around the pipe which was held in place by small wires.  The insulation around the wire itself was decaying (probably installed 40 years ago) and could have caused an electrostatic charge (?) between the two metals which would corrode the copper pipe.  I appreciated this extra information, so that I can remove the rest of the insulation and prevent future leaks (the insulation was put on to prevent condensation and is no longer necessary).   I thought the cost of the repair was fair.
