"Everything went extremely well. We wanted to finally install central air to our older home, so we called around and got several estimates. The salesperson Tom Kelly, that came out was very patient and took the time to answer all of my questions and explained several options. After the estimates were done, we decided to go with Jimmy Gusky based on the reviews and the presentation Tom had given. The estimates from all the companies were somewhat all around the same price, And we didn’t want to go with the cheapest estimate. Initially we were only looking to have central air added onto the furnace, but on installation day, one of the installers brought to my attention that there were small cracks in the heat exchangers of the 20 yr old furnace. Based on the potential of the furnace leaking carbon monoxide into the house, it was decided to just replace the furnace and get a new HVAC unit. The two men that did the installation were very experienced and knowledgeable. The new system looks and works great. I supplied my own Nest thermostat and they installed that as well. Kudos to the two installers who definitely knew what they were doing and took pride in their work. Overall a very good experience and I would definitely recommend them"

"Pleasant father and son team, with son taking the lead. They quoted a price to come out and assess, but did not charge for doing so, although we had call them the day of the appointment to remind them of the appointment. They made sure to mention in the initial phone call that they buy and sell houses as well. They came out and once we mentioned that we were soon selling our house, they were more concerned with telling us what repairs needed to be done in the entire house, than with focusing on the repair they were requested to assess. The estimate was for $1500-$8000, depending on if we just wanted the repair of the shower leak or the entire bathroom redone. There was an access panel, which they saw and pointed out at the visit, that could have been an option to use for the repair, but instead their estimate was for the route of repairing through the tiling in the bathroom. We went with a different plumber and got the shower repaired done for under $100."

"Mr. Brian Langford made all the arrangements with the installation of our gas hot water heater from Lowe's via McCarthy plumbing. He was extremely helpful,patient, professional and available to answer all questions. Due to his approach to his work, we will be working with both companies in the future. Only concern I have is the warranty between Lowe's and AO Smith Hot water heaters. Once the heater is installed, Lowe's severs ties. If there is a problem with the hot water heater, you cannot return it to Lowe's although it was purchased through them, this is clearly stated on the Hot water heater in bold writing."

"Charged $395 to install a refrigerator water line and remove an old saddle valve. We were getting low pressure from our existing fridge line, so I called to have the line and saddle valve replaced. Saddle valves are prohibited in the 2015 International Plumbing Code [Article 605.9] (adopted by Maryland), so I asked to have the existing one cut out and replaced with copper, then install a new ball valve on an existing copper line that is already closer to the the fridge anyway. Unfortunately Akeem either didn't hear or didn't understand the instructions properly, because after removing the old saddle valve he just put another one back in. I'm not sure why he even has them in his truck to be honest, since their use has been prohibited for several years. Anyway, after explaining again what I had been expecting he took it out and put in a ball valve. The finished work was of good quality. However given the misunderstanding about the job requested, apparent lack of knowledge concerning the Plumbing Code, and what I feel was a very high price for what amounted to about an hour's labor and maybe $25 in parts, I can't say I would use this plumber again."

"Hot water heater sprung a leak 11:30 at night. Was up all night cleaning up water and surfing the internet for help. Found DSJ along with several others. First plus, Mr Jarvis answered the phone! No answering machine or automated voice! We made an appointment for 4:00 that afternoon. Over the course of the day I talked to several plumbers in this area, taken 2 other estimates and had gained a little knowledge about the world of hot water heaters. I am a "senior - female" most of the plumbers appeared not to care for my questions about the service I was going to pay them to do. Mr Jarvis was friendly, patient and thoroughly answered each question. He provided information about the water heated he recommended and the warranty, and gave me a couple of options. His estimate was excellent. He was at my home 8:30 am the next morning. My new water heater was installed by noon and the old broken one was taken away. He left the premises cleaner than he found them! My water has been HOT ever since! Very happy with DSJ Plumbers! Highly recommend!"
