He diagnosed the problem right away and contacted the water heater manufacturer to find out if we were still under warranty. We were, but the part had to be ordered, which took a couple days since the service call was on a Friday. Monday morning I heard back from them, the part was in, and they sent a tech to install it. It only took about 20 minutes to make the repair, and the hot water is up and running again. $225 seems a bit pricey for labor since the part was covered by warranty. But their work was great, quick; great punctuality, no complaints there.
