"I cannot say enough good things about Mitchell and Demarcus. They called when they were on the way, arrived on time, and completed the installation in just a few hours. It was a tough job. The water heater was partially blocked by the furnace but Mitchell figured out how to remove the old heater without having to remove part of a wall, which is what I expected would have to happen. He re-piped the connections (the old piping was a mess!) ran the gas line extension to my stove area and placed the new heater. I had hot water within a few hours of job completion. I now look forward to hiring Mitchell again to install my new gas stove (once I buy it). I highly recommend Cool Air. "Good company. Good experience from the time I began obtaining an estimate, until the work was completed June 2016. Prices were fair and reasonable for above-builder-grade product on 2 (Carrier Performance Series) HVAC unit replacements. They were very accommodating on meeting the timeline promised. My ONLY issue was that a bit more care could have been exercised on the install... but it was hotter than Hades, making conditions brutal! I am choosing Ragsdale to continue to service our units. Not an issue since that was the response from every other company. <br /> Technician arrived on time, was very professional and quickly found and fixed the problem.  Unfortunately, I didn't  <strong>explicitly tell him to review any repairs with me prior to making them. </strong> <br /> I was charged a $95 diagnostic fee and $130 to replace a $15 capacitor.  $225 for 45 minutes of labor and $15 of parts. Overall a good experience, but I would not have agreed to $130 service charge for a capacitor replacement. <br /> <br /> <strong>Update to Provider response 7/1/2014<br /> </strong> <br /> <strong>***DISCLAIMER***</strong> <br />  To anyone reading this review.  I <strong>AM</strong> qualified to change a capacitor, the average user should not attempt to make any repair with a capacitor or any other device of this type as it can cause serious injury and death when done incorrectly. <br /> <br /> I have no complaints with the technician, he was competent and professional and did a great job. <br /> <br /> In response to your pricing explanation, that's great. I understand. We all need to do what we need to do to cover the cost of doing business. I don't feel like anything was not a fair or honest price.  I don't feel like it's out of line with the market cost.  Bottom line, I don't care. Your overhead of doing business to stay in business is not my problem.  I agreed to pay $95 for a diagnostic fee to find out what was wrong with the unit. I would not have agreed to an additional $130 to replace a capacitor had I been asked before the work was done. Once the work was done, I paid the bill and I'm not asking for a refund or anything else for many of the reasons you outline. <br /> <br />  Had I known it was the blower motor capacitor, I would have gladly accepted absorbing the 90 minutes to drive to one of the Industrial Supply stores in Atlanta that I have an account to purchase a new capacitor the next day because I'm cheap like that. The unit had been out for almost 3 days at that point and the other unit was picking up the slack pretty well. <br /> <br />  However, I didn't have to drive anywhere or wait for shipping because I <strong>ALREADY HAD THE CAPACITOR</strong>. I bought it when I had to replace the capacitor on the outside unit 2 years ago and I wanted one on hand when the inside unit went. I also know it wasn't bad out of the box, because I tested the capacitance and discharge in the store with a Fluke 113 multimeter before I took possession of said box. It was located in a drawer less than 15 feet from your tech. Given the opportunity, that's $34 I didn't need to spend. <br /> <br />  I would have most likely taken the chance on making the repair myself, as replacing the capacitor is not one of the more difficult tasks involved.  Make sure the power is off at the breaker, do that special thing that must be done to make capacitors safe, disconnect the leads, remove old capacitor, put in new capacitor, reconnect leads and so on.  <br /> <br />  While I appreciate the time you spent to write this review and the personal note that I received in the mail, I hope this helps you  understand the reason for my dissatisfaction."
