"Sal and his polite crew did an excellent professional job excavating our 500gal LP tank and even returned to dump extra load of crushed stone into hole Free Of Charge and regrading top soil and lawn so we didn't have to worry about water collection attracting insects or us falling due to fact our rocky soil required 2 full loads of crushed rocks to make it level. We highly recommend Alternative Petroleum Services and personally refer straight talking Sal, Maria and their construction crew to neighbors and anyone considering excavation or other services they provide. You will be happy, just like us, as finding reliable polite contractors is not easy as we know well after having hundreds come to do work on our home and yard since we had house built in 1998. If you value polite and thorough contractors then Sal and his team are the way to go! ?? Best - John & Esty Muench"

"I signed up for a yearly contract from them.  They are the people I have had for many years.  I get my gas from them so every month I have a bill from them.  I have had things repaired in the past.  If we have their contract we get service right away.  If our heater breaks and it is 20 degrees outside they come right out.  They are quite a company and it is nice to stay with them."

"Pete determined the pump needed to be changed. He changed it without advising us to pump the tank first. He charged $95 for first half hour, then $95/HR after that. He claimed a big company would have charged us double. Total for the pump and service was $655. He did a sloppy job, using plastic zip ties and the pump was not placed in the tank properly. We had to call him less than 2 weeks later. He came and removed debris from the pump, and did not charge us which was nice, however if the tank was pumped initially, there wouldn't be any debris. We had to call him again 2 weeks after than, at which time he charged us $142.50, and said if he had to come back, he would have to replace the pump. A month later, the alarm went off again (high level water). We decided to go with Allstate Septic, who had us pump the tank first, then came the next day and freed additional debris from the pump. They only charged $85 to come, plus project cost. They determined that the pump was not placed properly, and told us that the work that Pete did was sloppy. They removed and cleared the bottom of the pump and charged only $122. If you need any septic tank work, don't call PTS, call a septic company. Also, PTS claims to accept credit cards, however, Pete did not accept any credit cards, check or cash only, claiming he does not want to pay the credit card fees. Allstate also told us they would have charged us $450 for the pump, not $655. I would never hire him again, his work is sub par, and he is overpriced."

"We lost heat and water the same time in February in our Long Pond, PA house. Called Ultimate Plumbing & Heating. The owner, Tom, was very helpful with explaining what my options were and how to save money on potentially expensive repair. Tom helped to obtain furnace part form the Ducane distributor in Wilkes Barre (40 ml away), brought new well pump, pressure tank and all other needed parts. Tom, Chris and Michael are real professionals, worked calm, diligently, with no rush restoring heat and water supply. I would like to express my appreciation for exceptional customer service and workmanship. They were very patient and professional, answered all my questions in detail. I would recommend them to anyone who wants great work at a very fair price. They stand by their work and so do I. Alex, Valentina"

"I had a major problem with my car. One service station said there was nothing they could do since the parts for my particular car are nearly impossible to get. Another said they would do it but it would take 2 weeks and quoted me a price of $900 for parts and labor. I went to Alternate Tire (where I've purchased tires for both my vehicles before). They helped me locate a dealer who I could order the parts from (at a cost of only $125)and did the work for me. It took a total of 3 days as I waited for the parts to be sent to my home and Alternate Tire charged me only labor. Grand total: $300 INCLUDING THE PARTS!! The car runs great. Everyone at Alternate Tire is honest and professional. A great bunch of guys!"

"We've used this company since we moved here over 22 years ago. They're very reliable and keep on top of when you need a delivery. They're very professional and very courteous. They have very good rates. They have very good payment plans. They offer you different options. If you prepay or do the budget plan, which is an 11 month plan, and then, the 12 month is like your catch up month. Either you owe or they refund you and you're locked into a price if you do it those ways. So, let's say the oil goes up, you're not going to go up. You're locked in. But if it goes down, they'll give you the lower price. We've looked for other rates and his are the best. They clean out the boiler every fall. They're just great people. We've never had a problem. The people that come out are great."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Mount Pocono, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
