"The installation of our new tub/shower was done in one day. The old tub removal was done in the morning, and the new tub and surround were done in the afternoon. The crew did a professional job, and left the bathroom spotless."

"We went with American Home Remodeling after receiving an in-home estimate from Jim. We hadn’t really been actively looking into re-doing our roof, but someone had come door-to-door to see if we’d be interested in an estimate and we decided to go for it. We were told during the estimate that we had some mold, that was found in the attic while doing the estimate. This was only part of why we decided to have the roof redone. We had bought our house about 2 years ago and we knew when we bought it that the roof would need replacing pretty quickly as it was very old and we did have some issues with leaks during a heavy snow. We were told that we’d most likely get a call toward the end of September to start the work, of course this would depend on the weather and may be October if we had a lot of rain. I got a call on Wednesday afternoon asking if we’d be ok to have the guys come to start the next day. A little last minute, but luckily it worked for our schedule. I was told the guys would be there between 8-8:30 and the dumpster would be there around 10; Robert asked if we’d be ok with them putting the dumpster in the driveway, which we agreed to. I asked how long the project was expected to take since we were told during the estimate usually 3 days. I was told it might bleed into Saturday a bit, but majority would be done Thursday and Friday. The next day the materials were delivered around 7:30, the dumpster showed up around 8:30, however no one showed up to start working until about 10:40. They had only removed the shingles from the front side of the house before leaving for the day and left the worksite a mess with broken shingles laying everywhere. The next day I decided to work from home in case they had any questions or needed to get into the house for any reason. The guys showed up around 9 and I spoke with the foreman, Josh, who apologized for the way the site was left, apparently he had not been there the day before. Josh came in to check out our bathroom fan that was supposed to be fixed during this project as well, and while he was in the house we checked with him to make sure they would be replacing the plywood on the roof, as that’s what we were told since there was mold. We showed him in the attic where we had been told the mold was and he assured us that there wasn’t actually any mold there and they would not be replacing the plywood unless it was rotted. Not sure why Jim told us during the estimate that we had mold if we didn’t, but now we weren’t getting new plywood, which we were told that we would. Another reason we had decided to go with them, since we thought so much was being included in the repair. I went out to check on the progress around 12:30 on Friday since I was expecting most of the work to be done by the end of the day and saw that they only had about 2 rows of shingles on the house. I didn’t pay close enough attention to the shingles themselves since I was mainly worried about how much was being done, and I suppose that I should have. The guys left around 3:30 and mentioned they’d be back the next day to get some more done. When I went out to see what progress had been made (only about ¾ of the front side, nothing done to the back yet), I realized that they were installing the wrong shingles. We had ordered the ‘slatestone grey’ and looking at the name on the single packages still left they were installing a ‘colonial slate’. I immediately called the office and talked to a receptionist who informed me she was the only one left for the day and unfortunately the guy who could help me, Robert, would not be in again til Monday. She forwarded me to his voicemail even though she mentioned he probably wouldn’t hear it until Monday. I left a message explaining the situation and requested that he give me a call back as soon as possible. I waited around all day Saturday so that I could make sure the guys knew not to install any more shingles, as they were the wrong ones, and no one ever came. No call, no notice, just didn’t show up. First thing Monday morning I received a call from Robert who asked what was going on and then asked what I thought about the “colonial slate” shingles on the house. I told him truthfully that I really wished that I liked them because the guys had already finished ¾ of the front side, but I really didn’t like the look of them and it wasn’t what we had ordered or expected. He promised to take care of everything and agreed that the color of the shingles is one of the most important parts of a roofing job and it really should have been written down on our agreement. I really appreciated Robert taking care of the situation like he did. When I got home from work that day they had already taken off all the old shingles and had started putting the right ones on. By Wednesday they had completed the front side of the roof, and it looked so much better with the correct shingles! Took much longer than expected to complete everything, but the end result is beautiful and we’re hoping all the work that was put in pays off through these winter months! My biggest concern with the company was just the lack of communication and seeming disorganization during the process. The contract wasn't super clear on what exactly had been discussed during our estimate and what all was going to be included since Jim made us believe we'd be getting all new plywood, the shingle color wasn't even written down on our agreement, which caused much more work and a longer time to complete, and I wasn't given a heads up when the guys decided not to show up on Saturday. We also did a full-finance with them and I really didn't like that none of the terms were available or outlined to me before signing the agreement. Jim lead us to believe that we'd have 0% interest financing and turns out we're getting 7.99%; quite a big difference. All in all, I understand that it was a pretty hot week and since the weather was supposed to be good they weren't pushing too hard to get everything completed asap, but it seemed like they were really just taking their time with everything and not really hustling to get things done in a timely manner. I'm just hoping that everything was done right and that we won't have any issues with leaks or anything like that moving forward!"

"The contractor from beginning to end of this project were exceptional. In the matter of a week we had our new shower installed. A week from contact to contract. Jonathan came out appraised our remodel, offered excellent financing options and set us up. Financing was approved, permits handled and materials gathered. Matt and Ivan arrived at our home a few days later and in less than eight hours we have a new shower. It is beautiful. Plus they took care of our home, removing all the debris and protecting our floors. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a bathtub or shower remodel. Thanks guys!!!"

"I just could not find anyone local that would do a cabinet refacing. One big local retailer said 'good luck" nobody does that anymore. (that's where I had bought the cabinets 25 yrs ago) reluctantly I went to the internet where again not a lot of companies to choose from. One was Kitchen Magic whom I never heard of but had good reviews. I receive a callback from Angela the next day to set up an appointment with Rich(sales) the following week. Today, three weeks later Mark completed the installation. From start to finish Kitchen Magic exceeded all my expectations Great company Thanks Rich, Angela and Mark"
