Because their bid was the most competitive and their work exceptional, I have since hired them to do a number of other home projects for me. Their work is impeccable, the crew is outgoing, friendly and respectful of my home, they clean up after themselves, and they go out of their way to ensure satisfaction. Bill (one of the owners) even talked me out of buying an expensive wooden beam for my living room ceiling. Instead, his crew built one for me using antique barn wood. "As a testament to how happy we were with our first renovation provided by the Curtice Group in 2021, which provided completely new kitchen/dining/mudroom/bath, we hired Scott and his team again in 2024-25 for another major renovation. This job was composed of 3 main parts: a gut remodel of our main bathroom, renovation of a large attic space (about 700 sq ft), and whole-home conversion from steam radiators (gas) to heat pumps including removal of all radiators and a chimney. The bathroom now is attractive and more functional, the attic adds a large amount of useful space as an office/kid room/guest area, and central air makes a more comfortable climate. I’m a big fan of the design/build concept, because you really don’t want to separate those two elements into different contractors, and if you find a talented company, they can handle all aspects of the job fluidly. Scott Curtice has a real knack for design, he is attentive and cares about details, and he will perform carpentry and touch-up work as needed. Moreover, he handled all the project coordination so that we could do the jobs that we do well, which do not include home renovation."

"Take home message: Joe DaSilva from SILMAC Construction is a reliable contractor who produces a great result and is easy to work with. We purchased an older home this summer and worked with SILMAC on a major renovation including full kitchen and 1.5 bathroom renovations, as well as updates, structural work and repairs throughout the home. Joe has been responsive from the start and worked with us on our timeline, starting work as soon as we purchased the home. We are now on week 16 of SILMAC's quoted 8 week turnaround time, but this is largely due to change orders we have made as we learned more about the home. Joe has brought in a talented team to do the work. Joe is knowledgeable and has good advice, and is willing to discuss and price out different scenarios for you before you make a decision about what to move forward with. He was an excellent resource when considering multiple options and saying "we can do it, but I don't think it's worth it for you." This really helped us stay on budget! Overall, our new home is completely transformed and we are very happy with the result. Communication has been by phone, text and email, which overall has worked well for us, but occasionally things have been miscommunicated or misunderstood. Just general advice for any construction project, keep in mind that your contractor is busy and to make your expectations clear, send reminders and document decisions. Overall, Joe was very reliable and easy to talk to and clarified anything we asked about. Everyone on his crew was very nice to work with, but specifically we wanted to mention Antonio, who may be one of the nicest people we've ever worked with! Joe's billing process was clear, transparent and if he left anything out or if we requested clarification or corrections, they were worked out quickly. We have completed several renovations in a smaller home with different contractors over the years, and this overall experience with SILMAC was better than any of our other renovations. We would work with SILMAC again and have already started discussing work that we hope to do sometime in 2020/2021. We are working through our punch list right now and will update this post or add another review if anything changes from what we've written here."

"We are so thrilled that we chose Joe and Jonathan from Home Pro Services for such a major home construction project! We had TWO bathrooms that were circa 1980s in our home and BOTH needed a gutting renovation. The plumbers, electricians and painters he referred for our project were also highly qualified and respectful. The quality of Home Pro services by far exceeded our expectations!
