We had a complex job where we needed several different types of existing floor removed (including concrete!) and we needed new floors tied into existing floors. We also needed new stair railing installed with wood to match the floors. Jose and his crew worked tirelessly and completed the job ahead of schedule (when was the last time you could say that about a construction project, right?). The new floors tie in seamlessly with the existing wood floor we kept. The whole crew is very professional and trustworthy. We are over-the-moon with our floors -- they look even better than we could have imagined!"

"My wife and I highly recommend Modern Flooring Services. We had 450 square feet of an irregular shaped floor covered with carpet upstairs that we wanted to replace with wood flooring. Modern Flooring Services provided a contractor to provide an initial estimate and a list of supplies needed to purchase. Then they sent a consummate professional and craftsman to install our floor. His name was Patrick, and he started by explaining what we should expect when he removed the carpet, prepared the subfloor, and then installed the wood. He provided different options for how the wood could be angled based on the floor layout. Then he went to work, and we can’t praise his work ethic enough. He is one of the hardest workers I know. He also did a great job of minimizing the dust. If we opt to install new flooring in the future, we will definitely hire Modern Flooring and request Patrick to install the floor."

"Luis was always at our home when he said he would be. There was a hiccup with the finish but Luis corrected the problem and the result is a beautiful Swedish finish wood floor. His price was reasonable especially compared to other local floor refinishers. He includes in his price to remove the refrigerator and stove and cover everything in plastic. We would definitely recommend Luis."

"Mark Haight himself came out to measure our building's hallways and stairs for new carpet. Mark later dropped off sample boards. After we'd chosen the carpet, we shopped around. We ended up giving Haight the work in the end because they submitted the most reasonable bid. My primary contact, by email and phone, was with Melita. She helped with the samples and she scheduled the work. Melita was exceptionally easy to work with.Shortly before the removal/installation date, Seattle City Light informed us that power would be out to the block on installation day, for utility work. I was willing to reschedule, but Melita consulted her crew. They wanted to go forward despite the possible blackout conditions. The power did go out, early, and yet the crew performed carpet removal under extraordinary conditions: on a hot day, no lights indoors, using only headlamps that I provided them (they really should've brought their own, though), with black dust in the air due to the old carpet pad having disintegrated. After the installation, I noticed that a set of small, regular holes were visible in all the 2nd floor hallway carpet. There were also some scuffs to the interior paint. Haight sent a guy out to examine the work. He touched up the scuffs. He also determined that the 2nd floor holes were due to one of the installers using an improper technique. Mark Haight himself called later and said that they would come back and reinstall the 2nd floor carpet at their own expense. They did. So although I was disappointed by the initial installation error (the holes), we were pleased by the final result. Kudos to Mark Haight for being a real professional and getting the error fixed for us as soon as possible. "

"The installation was done very well.  The crew took their time and made sure everything was done right.  It looks excellent and meets the flooring int he adjoining rooms perfectly.  The price was very good.
The initial communication was a little unusual.  We communicated solely through Angie's List email even though I provided my personal phone number and email.  It was just new for me to communicate that way.  It worked out fine and everything was done to our satisfaction.

"Adrian and his crew did a great job regrouting the floor, shower floor and shower walls of our bathroom. They also installed a gorgeous mosaic backsplash in both our kitchen and bathroom. They showed up on time, worked hard and got this large amount of work done in 3 days. We needed a little touch up done in a couple spots after the job was completed and Adrian came out and took care of it. They were also reasonably priced. Very happy with the work and highly recommend them!"
