"'m sorry, I didn't answer earlier; I did not see this email until last Thursday, although I was looking for it. When I first spoke to he told me he can only come tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning to see the job and to discuss what he will do and give me a contract. I was reluctant to have him come this early beacause my son and husband would not be available but i agreed because I figured he was just coming to look. He came early and looked only in one place instead of looking around the whole house and told me that he is sure that I have a raccoon problem because of the opening in the eaves. He told me he wants to cover the hole with chicken wire and a one-way door and the raccoons will leave through the exit. I tried disputing this idea, but before we drafted a contract he went to work patching up the hole. It probably took around 20 minutes and he claimed he was finished. I was all alone, early in the morning for me, when i couldn't think straight, so I just wanted to finish up with him. I said the job was guaranteed for a full year so I asked him hw much I owed him and I paid him $800 cash. And he gave me a receipt marked "raccoon" and charged me the full price for trapping a raccoon, which he never did. When my son, who lives with me appeared, he was furious. He said the problem stemmed from a different hole, and the hole that he patched up was originally a small hole which he may have enlarged to convince me that I have racoons. I undersood that ithe same treatment for racoons would also solve the sqirrel problem. My son called him and lost his temper while confronting him with accusations that he was scamming us. He got insulted and hug up on him. The next day I called him and told him there was another hole to tackle, so he agreed to come the next day. He did come, and I showed him where the hole is. He saw that it would be quite difficult to access it. In the meantime, my son came out and tried to talk to him. The conversation got rowdy, he got offended, and, in short, refused to deal with us and ran away. Nothing was accomplished and he refused to set up some traps, which he could have easily done inside my house because I have trap doors to the eaves. We have done it in the past and were successful. That took place last week, and since then, I am at my wits' end. We have several squirrels running around in the attic, and I cannot call a roofer until I get rid of them. "Shysters! When contracting their services, the fine print states that unless you cancel the service a month in advance, they will continue to charge your credit card. Billing is so incompetent, I?ve been charged twice after the cancellation. Stick with Orkin. "

"I recently called Viking Pest to re-bait my rodent stations in the garage and outside. When they arrived, they refused to do that and told me that since I have a dog, their company policy no longer allows them to. I had the dog when I started service with them. In fact, 2 months prior to their policy change they sold me 2 outdoor bait stations for $75. So basically, they would like me to spend more money and buy into their Smart Rodent technology instead, as their only option claiming it’s safer. If they were offering it at the same cost then that might be an option but it’s not the case. I called multiple times asking for their service manager to call me as I was upset. Each time customer service would say I’d get a call within 48 hours and never did. I guess since Viking is owned by Anticimex a large corporation, they’ve lost sight of customer service. I am very disappointed with Viking Pest, I would not recommend them. If I could give the no stars I would."

"Squirrels had gotten into our roof timbers and were scratching around making a racket. Every morning and every evening I could hear them above my bedroom and they were driving me crazy. I decided to contact Trapper John because of his Angie's List recommendations. He figured out where they had entered and put up a one way squirrel door so that when they came out to forage they would not be able to get back in. Sure enough, after a day or two, they all left. John then plugged up the hole. I would recommend his services to anyone who is having problems with invasive wildlife. He was very pleasant and informative about wildlife and other problems he noticed around the property."

"Select Exterminating is highly recommended! I am a new home owner and I purchased the year/quarterly service because my tenants were complaining about spiders and centipedes. Once they serviced me, I have yet to see any of these insects ever again! The call center are very helpful in working with your schedule. HOWEVER if you ever get an exterminator by the name of DEVIN, have them send you someone else. DEVIN is extremely unprofessional and belligerent. I scheduled a service a few days ago and was told the exterminator is scheduled to come between the hours of 12-4. By the time 3pm rolled around, I decides to call and see when he would come service me. DEVIN calls me and states he is in Staten Island and he will unfortunately have to come after 4pm, unless I can reschedule. I told him it is quite alright to come later because today is my only day off. I informed him to please call me at least 30 minutes prior to arrival because I do not live nearby. I also informed the representative, who stated he will inform the exterminator. About an hour later DEVIN calls me and states he is outside. I said "why didn't you call me prior?" "I do not reside there, please give me 20 minutes to make my way over there" DEVIN says "ok" I get to the location about 27 minutes due to traffic. DEVIN states he is leaving, he did the top floor and has school and has to go. I asked why didn't you call me and tell me before wasting my time to come all the way here. He says it is not his fault, he waited too long and now he is leaving. He was very nasty and unprofessional on the phone. Initially you were suppose to come between 12-4p, came late, was very upset and hung up on me when I said I couldn’t reschedule, never completed the job, wasted my time and spoke about another obligation and was rude to top it off!!! After I accommodated him, he couldn’t accommodate me and was very nasty. Luckily for me, Ms. Lizette the supervisor gave me a free service for the inconvenience and sent someone who was excellent to complete the subpar work that DEVIN left. My whole day was over. I have never been so upset in my life. If you are choosing to go with Select Exterminators, request that they do not give you DEVIN and make sure to ask for the name of the exterminator. Good Luck!"
