Patching isn't too difficult, matching the texture is impossible for me and from what I hear, nearly impossible for the pros also. I wish texturing had been addressed.

C&J Wilcox Remodeling, Inc. Jim 970-9889494. That is the contact info of the person that service magic sent out to replace 4 doors in our home. He did a good job and was very courteous to myself and my fiance. Thanks again service magic. Orlando

Video Transcript for "How to Patch Drywall"
David Lupberger on the How to Repair Drywall: Hi, I'm David Lupberger with ServiceMagic.com. In this video we're going to show you how to patch drywall. As you can see, drywall is very easy to damage, but I'm going to show you - not very hard to patch. So, first step, you'll see a variety of holes here. So before I do any kind of patching - because in most cases I'm going to get a drywall putty or a drywall repair paste and fill these holes. But before I do that, I need to take down anything that's sitting above the surface.
David Lupberger: Once I've knocked down anything that's sitting higher, I'm going to take a piece of sandpaper and briefly sand down anything else to make sure I have a smooth surface.
David Lupberger: Alright, so what we're going to do is patch these holes. You can use simple spackling you can get at any hardware store. I'm using something else - it's a quickset. And I'm doing that for the purpose of this video so we can actually cover each one of these holes. Quickset, very simply, allows you - I'll be coming back here in about 10 minutes - sanding those and putting on a second coat. Because the first coat doesn't usually do it. If I used spackle, I'd have to wait all day to do it a second time.
David Lupberger: Now you'll see, we also have a bigger hole. So, I'm going to take, again, the same compound, put it around the hole. And in this case, I'm going to use a drywall patch. I'll take this patch and put it right over the hole and begin to feather that out. And trust me, you've got to hurry because it dries quickly.
David Lupberger: Some patch kits come with light plastic screens to go over the patch itself and helps you, when you put the drywall surface on, to finish the surface.
David Lupberger: So, I've finished sanding and I'm going to use a rag to wipe off all of that drywall dust. Remember those big holes when we started this repair? Big one in the middle and all those others? That's how you do a drywall patch.
