"We met with several local contractors here in Lincoln Park Chicago for a bathroom remodel in our high-rise condo. After meeting with Jakubek, we knew we found our contractor and needed to look no further. During their visit to our property to evaluate the project we immediately felt their honesty and we could tell they understood exactly what we wanted to accomplish. When we received their estimate and scope of work, they captured every single detail, itemized in line items. They also provided separate line items for optional pricing on things that we wanted to consider but were not sure we wanted to do or not do. For example, replace our bath tub or keep the one we had. In addition to all that, their quote was the lowest of all their competitors and their timeline for construction was the shortest as well! We signed our contract and scheduled the project. Sadly shortly after, and through unforeseen circumstances on MY part, I had to cancel the project. This family owned business was by far the most professional detailed, honest and caring company we could have ever found. We weren't looking to remodel our entire kitchen. We called Frank's company after reading reviews on Angie's List. Frank came to our house and listened to our needs & concerns. He and his crew had great suggestions, ideas, and options on how to make our kitchen updated, functional, & aesthetic looking, all while keeping the cost within our budget. We had our kitchen updated with paint, new cabinet doors, a new backsplash, & kitchen knobs. This can be challenging during a Covid-19 pandemic but Frank & his crew made it work within our schedule. "James was great. Instead of just patching things up, he got to the root of the leaks we'd been experiencing, and uncovered shoddy workmanship from previous repairs. He was very persistent about making sure the leak was resolved before patching the damage the leaks had caused.  (He found sheetrock and old rags used as patching materials from previous work!)
He removed all the old / rotted trim and decking on our balcony, repaired the balcony railing, faithfully restored the tin soffit under the second-floor gutter system (going out of his way to find suitable galvinized tin); and he replaced all the mouldings, even painstakingly trimming them to match the original materials. His attention to detail is well appreciated, and the finished work looks great.
Only one drawback: Since James typically works alone, his schedule is a bit unpredictable. If there was rain in the forecast, he would take another, interior job for the day.  Then, even if it didn't actually rain, my job got held off.  So the whole job took a couple weeks longer than we'd planned.
But in the end, James brought in a helper and got everything done in time for painters to come in an do the finish work.

"Angelo Pecoraro, the owner of A.P. Builder, was a pleasure to work with from start to finish on our major remodeling project of adding a sunroom to our home. Out of many contractors I called to get an estimate, he was the only one willing to provide options to have the project fit our budget.
