"Our experience with Absolute Home Solutions has been fabulous. I set up all the meetings without my husband because he was working long hours. Therefore, Greg interacted mainly with me. I did not feel uncomfortable at all and he was always willing to answer any questions I had. Other contractors I had come through made me feel as though they were taking advantage of me. Because I was making most of the decisions at this point, Greg's honesty went a long way in my book. I highly recommend Greg to any single mom or women in need of a trustworthy contractor that will not rip you off just because you are a woman!
Greg happily answered questions unrelated to the work he was doing in our home. He always asked how I liked the work. In addition, even though my husband was usually not around when Greg was there, he asked how my husband felt about the work too. He explained everything he would be doing and was incredibly knowledgeable about his work. At first our list of things for him to do was short. As we continued with renovations the list became longer. Greg was happy to work with us on the additional work which was great. He was super flexible. In addition, he always tidied up at the end of the day which was wonderful.
The prices were very reasonable. I had looked at other contractors for the electrical in the soffit and they were outrageous. Greg did the electrical and soffit repair in the same price quoted as the electrical alone from another contractor.

"We have American Home Shield warranty. We did have some plumbing and electrical work done. I have no idea who the service was because we did it through the home warranty. They have a $75 deductible for everything. American Home Shield has been great, definitely A across the board. The $75 deductible seemed great for cost and professionalism. They have a web site, Hub, where you can request service and everything, so A across the board for them. They are punctual and they cover the range of plumbing and - they cover a lot of issues with the home so I can always go to them if anything goes wrong, from plumbing to electrical to appliances. They've got me covered across the board."

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

"The work of the carpenters and plumber provided was especially good. I have not found a single flaw in the cabinet resurfacing...it is amazing!. The doors and new drawers look great and work well. The carpenter was able to do the electrical installations and the plumber was able to do minor repairs as necessary. After the counters were installed, the glue had to dry overnight and Sears sent someone else back the next day to finish the plumbing. All the workers made every effort to clean up their mess and to leave as much of the kitchen as functional as possible. The countertop people were a little less special. They had to redo part of the countertop and were not as reliable in showng up as the others. They left no instructions for caring for the granite and seemed to think, when I called to ask about this, that mine was an unusual request. They gave me a website for the type of granite they used. According to the salesman we purchased from, the job would take 3-4 weeks. It actually took three months. The delay was, in my opinion, caused by Sears not getting things arranged as efficiently as they might have. That said, I must add that I have never attempted to get such a variety of jobs coordinated on my own. It might have taken six months without Sears organizing things. We were given telephone numbers and email addresses to contact the coordinators, if necessary, and usually got at least a quick reply if not action One other problem is that I discovered, after all workers had left, that there is a spot on the granite countertop which is not polished and shiny like the rest of it. I have called the counter installers and was told they would have to get in touch with Sears about the matter and would get back to me. That has been over a month and I have heard nothing. The entire job is supposed to be guaranteed. I cannot say Sears has followed up with our complaint but neither am I sure the matter was ever reported to Sears. The overall look of the kitchen is beautiful. The new appliances are working well. I am satisfied with the job and would consider hiring Sears again."

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
