"I had a hard time contacting this company at first but when they finally responded, the service was great. Chuck met with me and explained what he thought would work best for the crawlspace in our new home. We originally wanted to install drain tile to avoid any possible water seepage in the future but he told us it wasn't necessary. Unlike PermaSeal who tried to sell us everything under their roof! Buyer beware of PermaSeal! Anyway, Chuck offered to provide a payment plan since we couldn't afford it all in one lump sum. We had a few issues at the beginning with things unrelated to them but Chuck was very responsive and advised us regarding some issues with our village permit. Even though we called and e-mailed him several times in one day, he maintained his great customer service. We finally scheduled an appointment and then had to re-schedule which they accommodated. The day they showed up, they came a bit late but Chuck sent a message letting us know. He showed up to check out the installation as well and warn us of the strong smell of the foam to see if we wanted to leave the house. We stayed but the foam smell was very strong for a few weeks and even up to today, we have not used it yet due to the smell. We may not end up using the crawlspace for storage as originally planned because we've noticed there's still a lot of insects getting through there since we left the entrance open for the smell to dissipate. Well, the crawlspace looks good and we are very happy that they installed a light switch by the entrance and a bulb in the middle so we could see the entire space if we want to go in there. We also got excited when Chuck mentioned they would do a radon test to show us the difference with the insulation. This has not been done yet but I hope they still come out and do it. I really enjoyed working with Chuck. He is a great guy and I highly recommend using this company. Stay away from PermaSeal! I say this because they tried to take advantage of us prior to us contacting this company."

"The whole event went better than I could have hoped. To start, I have to divulge that I am the family "handy-man" - for the entire extended family. There is nothing I don't do, drywall, roofing, electrical repairs, cabinets, sinks, tubs, you name it - I have probably fixed it. So it makes me really anxious when a problem comes up that I can't manage on my own, because no one does the job you do on your own home. But I knew I could not handle the crawl space - too much specialized gear and tools, need way more than my own two hands, no access to the right concrete or foam application tools, and no idea how to make the drainage work. The estimate was right on, the square footage was accurate, the time to start and finish the job was just as they said it would be. They said they'd be there at 730am and they were there at 730am. They said what would be done and at what time, and when they'd break for lunch - it was all exactly as they said it would be. They took care to enter and exit the home with care, laid out plastic and other protective material in every area they touched. They worked quickly and efficiently. What I was most worried about was the workmanship. When I do a project, I never do it to "code" - I do it well in excess of minimum code. "We chose Chicago Crawlspace because Andy was punctual, professional, well versed and provided us with a detailed quote of the services being provided. We apppreciated that the pricing given to us was broken down and each specific task was assigned a cost - as opposed to a company just giving a lump sum quote. We even knew the brand and cost of the sump pump being installed.

The crew was on time and finished on schedule. All existing debris in the crawlspace was bagged and removed from the crawlspace by the crew before they began laying the liner. One challenge we had involved our water softening system which is located in our crawlspace. Andy was very willing to work with us and did not require us to have the equipment removed before doing the work. He provided a plumber to disconnect and then reconnect the system. The softener and the salt holding tank are located beneath the opening to the crawlspace to allow for easy access. Pouring the concrete floor would result in losing a few inches of height clearance and make refilling the salt tank very inconvenient if we moved it farther away from the opening. We discussed it with Andy and he said that he would have his men dig down a few inches - at no additional charge - under the tank so that we would still be able to refill the tank fairly easily and keep it near the opening.
