That alone told me a lot about his commitment. He assessed the situation first, then came back to complete the repair and walked me through everything step by step so I actually understood what was happening and why. With a house this old, that kind of communication really matters. Since we had just moved in, he also helped service a few other things around the house so we could get ahead of potential issues. He clearly knows his trade and takes the time to do things properly. I'm very thankful to him and the gentleman with him. "I try to leave reviews on every business that I’ve been in contact with. I can say that this company, “Joe the Plumber” in CT (a Perras Family Co.) is simply awesome. I had used them years ago on my first house here in Glastonbury. They were great then. Maybe 10 years later (this morning) we woke up with no water on our ‘new’ home (24 years old), also in Glastonbury. I called the first number I had on my iPhone at 7am (spoke to a very professional person named Willy) and within 3 hours Wayne Perras (the service tech) & Co were here addressing the problem. After 24 years, the well pump gave out. It was in a 400 feet-deep well. They completed the job in 5 hours. I didn’t have to wait until Monday, which was one of my concerns. Wayne was very straight forward. No BS. Gave me the quotes. I agreed, since it sounded reasonable. I had changed the pump on my other house (not as deep & smaller pump) so I knew around how much it would cost. Wayne was great, knowledgeable and had a friendly and respectful disposition. I will certainly use them for another related project this Summer. I truly & honestly recommend this family company. It was a Godsend that the first number I had on my phone was for Joe the Plumber (the Perras)! THANKS GUYS!"

"Had a water leak coming from A.C. unit and I called HARP on Saturday morning and was informed a technician could be out on Saturday between 2pm and 6pm. Jaime informed me that it was $89 for service call and $25 for fuel charge and HARP does not charge by the hour but by the job. At 12pm I received a phone call from HARP dispatcher and i am told that the tech finished up his job early and would like to come over to our home, I informed her that we were not home, she said no problem we will see you at your schedule timeframe. Dispatcher called again at 1pm and asked if tech could head our way and I said yes, we were home. Courtney Ivey came out and arrived at 1:45pm, was very professional, personable, clean, wore slippers over his shoes, uniform was sharp looking, wore a mask, provided me with some great helpful hints, turns out I needed I condensate tank pump. He replaced the pump, took the old one away and paid for the part and service. I later saw on HARP website that they offered military discounts, so I called and spoke to a wonderful person named Debbie. I explained that we had just paid for service and was wondering if it was too late for HARP to provide the military discount, she said absolutely we can. She sent an e-mail to HARP billing department and asked I be credited 10%. I have to say little shocked at all the negative reviews. My experience was 100% hands down."

"I was very happy with the service provided by Anthony and his crew.  They communicated with me constantly, were easy to approach with questions and they worked quickly. There seemed to be a lot of attention to detail.  All the debris and asphalt were carted away and the job was left clean.  They will be back in the spring when the trenching can be regraded and reseeded.    I waited to do this review until we had one good freeze and one good soaking rain and this was the week it happened. No water in the window well, water eliminating where it is supposed to be, and no water  near my foundation.  Thanks AJ!

"Service went pretty well. I called on a Sunday afternoon and the phone was immediately answered by a receptionist. She dispatched someone who was nearby, and he called within 15 minutes. We ran through some diagnostics over the phone, and he decided he needed to visit.

The service person was a little rough around the edges, but otherwise was professional and competent. He arrived at the house, checked the water system electrical system to ensure the water tank had no issues. He then went out to the well and pulled the pump from the well.

Once he had the pump out, he diagnosed that it was completely shorted and that we would need a new pump. He didn't give a lot of good technical answers when I asked what happened, so it seemed like a foregone conclusion that I needed a new pump. I would have felt more comfortable if he were able to review why they pump had failed in a more detailed and scientific fashion.
He quoted me $800 for the replacement pump, of which he had a few on his truck. Again, I don't know enough if this is a good price. He didn't sell me on the features of the pump, which perhaps he should be more read up on.

He installed the new pump, added chemicals to the well to kill any pathogens, and we started to bleed the iron rich water. All in all, he was there for 90 minutes.

Complaints - He was not careful with the pump tubing and nearby flowerbed. It's almost as if he didn't care. I mentioned to him to please be careful, but he didn't seem to like flowers very much. He also wasn't very knowledgeable about his product."
