"Kyle was the first to respond shortly after I requested a quote from several service companies. I talked with him on the phone and explained the problem and he quoted me an approximate cost of $120. I made an appointment with him for the next day. He arrived on time, evaluated the problem and explained what needed to be done. He ran a special cutter through the drain line that fed into the main drain under the floor. We then checked the drainage of the kitchen sink, which then drained with a vortex. The blockage was cleared. The charge was exactly what he had quoted, $120. I was happy to have hired Kyle for the job, rather than one of the large companies, after having read their unfavorable reviews, about how they quoted a price and then upon evaluating the job, changed the price. In many instances, they didn't fix the problem and either required a return visit at additional cost or the home owner had to hire someone else, like Kyle to do the job right. I was also happy to hire Kyle, because he is a small business owner and I would rather support a single man operation such as his. I would highly recommend Kyle because of his professionalism and ability to solve the problem. In the future if I need other drain cleaning, I will hire Kyle and will refer others to him. "I asked them to fix a pin hole drip. The plumber explained that the pinhole drip in the basement was on a line that goes to the main floor bath. The plumber analyzed that to 'fix is right' they would need to tear out the wall behind the sink in the bathroom, or open the wall in the bedroom. The house is 1942, walls are lath and plaster, no one is tearing up walls for a pinhole drip in the basement. I asked them to kill the line, won't have hot water in the bathroom. They clipped the line and did a bypass that took about 20 min. Then he told me that my 2 year old water heater needs replacement, it has back drafting. The estimate on that was between $2200=-$7000 depending on what system I chose. He also suggested that I change out all the lines in the house, they are old. I can't even imagine what that might cost and was totally unsolicited."

I was very disappointed in the billing and cost of the services Dry Air Restoration (Shakopee, MN) provided.  The first estimate came back at $1925.00, but once they found out insurance was going to cover the clean up costs, their bill jumped up to $3,686.52 for the exact same services as indicated in their initial estimate.  We were told by this organization, that if insurance was covering the claim, they bill differently than if the bill will be paid for without insurance.

I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a company that takes advantage of its customers like this.  Regardless if insurance covers the clean-up and repair, the work performed is the same.
