"Alex came on time, quickly set to work, called me in to discuss what he found when he peeled off the old epoxy--the original refinisher had not done a thorough job, which had needed the original tile regrouted prior to applying the epoxy, which caused the cracking. He had to add some additional cost to the original expense to fix the grout, which he apologized for. He still finished on time, and the shower looks amazing. He supplied with with an instruction sheet on care of the new finish, which was not provided with the original job. He did a great job, was very courteous, did a through cleanup after finishing. I was very glad to have had him recommended to me."

"I’m very happy we hired Pearl Remodeling to remodel our bathroom. They were professional, extremely competent, and timely. I originally hired a different local contractor for the project. I provided the design with detailed scale drawings and dimensions that included stripping the room to the studs and installing a new tub with tiles. Fortunately, I am very knowledgeable when it comes to design, construction, and engineering, because the work done by the original contractor ranged from very sub-standard to downright wrong. I almost never saw their foreman, and good communication was lacking. They even damaged the bathtub because it wasn’t properly covered. Most of their workers were unlicensed, and apparently low-skilled. I became afraid to not be there whenever they were present. After watching them re-do several processes multiple times poorly (structural, plumbing, electrical, HVAC), I fired them and hired Pearl Remodeling to take it over. I’m so glad I did; they made a HUGE difference. And Pearl’s pricing was the same as the original company. All of Pearl’s workers were licensed and high-caliber professionals. They actually paid close attention to the drawings and asked pertinent questions while reviewing them. It was refreshing to see their quality workmanship and attention to details far beyond my plans. And their tile work was impeccable. Pearl’s project manager, Avi Shushan, remained very involved the entire time and provided excellent advice. His foreman, Jorge, was constantly communicating and updating me. (BTW, Jorge has a degree in civil engineering from UC Northridge.) They stuck to their timeline, and were flexible with a few last-minute adjustments I had sprung on them. When I fired the first company, their owner warned me that I was just being too particular, and that all contractors are the same; and if I wanted the quality I was demanding, I would have to personally supervise their work constantly. NOT TRUE!!! Pearl proved that to me! Thank goodness I called them. We now have a bathroom that exceeds our wishes. It is my pleasure to highly recommend Pearl Remodeling to anyone seeking a first-rate contractor that doesn’t over-charge for their services. I trust you will be as happy with them as we are."

"The project manager, Tom Cohen, was so helpful from our first meeting. He was knowledgeable about the windows and explained the differences so I could make the best choice for the money I had to spend. The windows were replaced and I'm happy with my beautiful new sliding door. The work was done quickly and my home was left in great condition. I had no clean up to do after the workers finished. Tom helped me process all the paperwork and arranged for financing , also very helpful. I would use this company again and I would ask to work with Tom Cohen. I trust him to help with future projects."

"Sam of ATM Tile provided an estimate, which was more than some other guys who weren't licensed at all, so I bit the bullet and decided to hire him after negotiating that I would buy my own tile. Sam is pretty chill and personable and responds to questions. However sometimes he was slow to respond or didn't answer certain questions. I checked with the State of California, and ATM Remodeling is licensed, Sam is licensed, and I trust that he knows about construction. I'm not sure if the guy who works for Sam is licensed. When I got the construction permit from the city (an extra $200+ by the way), they insisted that as owner-builder, I would have to ensure that my contractor was licensed, so I hope that the guys under Sam were licensed, if it was necessary. The work went at a pretty good pace. I had agreed to provide faucet in the contract, but I didn't get around to it when they were going to install it. The shower installer/plumber/tiler guy bought one and included it in the cost of the existing contract without a change order, but they didn't get exactly the faucet that I wanted. Oh well, it's a rental. When it came to getting the tile, I had some difficulty. I had to go to 3 Home Depots in order to get all of the linear feet of bullnose tile to match the wall tile, which the installer/plumber/tiler guy insisted on. He ended up not using them (because they were too wide to cover the area that they were going to cover but I didn't have any option), which was pretty annoying, but at least I was able to return them. He cut the rest of the wall tiles to make the corners and it came out looking pretty good, but perhaps not ideal. There were some wall tiles left over, glad I had bought extra beyond what he said he would need. To my frustration, the work ATM did damaged the floor in front of the shower and the wall in the hall adjacent/behind the shower. I hope that they didn't damage the studs in the framing. They put a little section of replacement flooring, which is temporary because it looks super tacky because it's so different from the original, vintage, non-fake-wood linoleum. My tenant doesn't quite like the new open shower, kind of old fashioned, like the coziness of the 3' by 3' shower more than new modern shower which I thought was pretty ironic."

"They basically demolished the whole bathroom, hauled it all away right away, which is important as we have some not-so-friendly neighbors in my neighborhood (!) they put in new plumbing as the plumbing was to my eyes rotten, but they confirmed that it wouldnt last more than a few years, so I just told them to change it.  They put in a new shower, new cabinets, with amazing caesar stone top, the finished product is flawless.  I actually had them put a heated floor so now when the floor is cold I can heat it up! best of all, they finished the whole job in 1 week, started on a Sunday and finished on Friday.  If you look at the pictures, how horrible it looked when it was all gutted, the finished product is all the more amazing.
