"Masle and his team were on time every day and provided all services requested and then some within the 5 day timeline provided (my basement is 754 square feet). Not only did Masle install the sump pumps and build a garage door drainage system, but he removed doors and shelf for inside storage closed and replaced, repaired/replaced an exterior door frame, rehung a closet door, removed additional wall to help me prep for faster drywall installation and his electrician installed two dedicated ground wall plugs for the sump pumps and marked them on my electrical panel box. I had to order a new door knob and lock for my outside storage and he offered to come back and install. I cannot say enough kind words about Masle and his team, except you will not be disappointed. Every time I asked him to do something, his reply was always, "No problem". Thank you Masle for providing awesome service!"

"The work was completed at the quoted cost and on time. I was shown photos of the condition of the sewers lines that were rotted and broken and also pictures of the new lines that were installed. The lines were tested to make sure the installation would be free of leaks. The office also kept me informed with information that was useful. Crew Plumbing and Drain appears to be a family run business which is a positive since each member is working for each other and not just the customer."

"Job went well. Mr Cooper's son ran the call along with a helper. He had to remove commode so he could access area in wall where pipe was located. He cut out a section of drywall, repaired pipe, and installed an access panel so the pipe feeding outside faucet could be accessed if need be in the future. Quality of work was very good. <br />"

"Leigh, and her husband, were great. Though my install took a bit longer than expected, due to the high volume time in which we ordered our gutters, they made every effort to accommodate. They got everything installed prior to the hurricanes, and even knocked a few hundred bucks off for our troubles. I would definitely hire, or recommend, these professional and kind folks to anyone, anytime."

"Crawlspace Medic - Augusta recently worked on our crawlspace. We were having moisture and water issues, a moisture barrier we previously put in had almost disintegrated, and originally-installed insulation was falling down. Kevin did a thorough inspection and gave me a comprehensive estimate, and his crew arrived timely and went right to work. They constructed a French drain within the crawlspace to drain off any water that would collect under the house, installed new insulation between all floor joists in the crawlspace, and installed a new, white 10-mil vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace. They taped over the seams and spiked the vapor barrier. We had previously installed an exhaust fan. They cleaned up the debris, and the crawlspace looks better than it ever has since we built our home in 1996. They worked continuously and did an excellent job. Tanner was very conscientious and came back to finish up. We are very pleased with the work they did on our home and feel so much better and secure about our crawlspace."

"Our backyard was as hard as rock and a tough job for the crew. The crew put in drainage as quoted and promised. The extra dirt was to be spread in the back yard which was not very well done. The owner, Chris Riggins came and spread and raked to my satisfaction. The only thing that has not been done is that he noticed that one of the drain pipes to the road was a little too high and he said that someone would come and take care of it, and no one has. Our yard is much drier than it was before the work was done."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Aiken, SC

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
