"I had Paramount come out to give me an estimate on refurbishing my empty swimming pool. It had been leaking water and we emptied it 2 years ago so it was time to either fix it or fill it in.

The estimator/sales guy came exactly on time, discussed the process and the issues he could see and emailed me an estimate later in the day. The only fly in the ointment for this part of the process is that I wrote back and asked him what kind of things typically drove up the price of this type of project (originally slated to be a re-tile and re-plaster job) and he didn't have any. I think he could have but more on that later.

The workers showed up exactly when scheduled and got right to work. They found that much of the plaster had lifted away from the gunnite and they really had to take it all down. They also found about 3 times as many structural cracks as estimated but that had been left open so that was okay. I was disappointed to be hit with the new charge of stripping the pool but Jorge cut me a really generous deal for the cost of the stripping and the extra cracks and I'm pretty sure I got the better end of the bargain. They also found that there were cracks in the corners of the pool and they applied extra rebar and concrete to those areas. They did not charge me more money for those repairs.

The job started on 7/20 and by 7/29 water was flowing into the pool again and it looks great. The crew did a good job of cleaning up and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I recommend Paramount without hesitation."

"Initially there was a misunderstanding regarding pricing, because of unclear wording in the Angie's List Deal I used for Blaylock Transport. The deal I purchased was for labor only; from the wording I thought it was a full service offer.
In spite of this, Tim was able to work with me to modify the deal in a way that worked out for both of us. He and his helper were friendly, punctual, and hustled their butts off to get the job done. They handled the delicate items with care, but still managed to move quickly.
If you hire Blaylock, it's best to communicate by phone. I sent a few emails via Angie's List that Tim says he never got; Tim says he sent me a few messages that I never received.

"We have been thinking about installing solar at our house for some time now. We had some quotes but nothing really "clicked". 
On one weekend we went to a BBQ at one of my friends house and then I noticed a solar system on his roof. I asked him who did it and he said Green NRG. I got their phone number and called them for a quote. A nice guy came explained me about solar the different manufactures and the different products that are out there. He pointed out that his product might be more expensive then other companies but it is made in the USA. once i got the price i noticed the price was lower then some of the bids i got while using a better equipment. I signed a contract and within 4 weeks the installation crew were on my roof installing the system. On the first inspection they passed and a few weeks later after LADWP approved the system it was turned on. Since then I have been saving money on my electrical bill. The only thing in regards to the solar system project management in couple cases it was hard to get updates right away from the project manager. The project manager apologized and explained they are very busy and it was the end of the year and there were a lot of project in their system. Even though they were very busy the system was installed faster then the original time frame and we were very happy about that. In addition Green NRG offered us turf termination service with redesign and installation of drought tolerance landscape to reduce our water bills. The best part is that LADWP paid for that project. For the first time in my life my utility company paid for my landscape.

"We bought our house a year ago, and it had an older pool that had not been well maintained. We replaced the filter and got the pool water healthy again, but we knew that it was badly in need of new plaster, coping, tile and pump. Summer rolled around and we were really enjoying having a pool. Swimming, having pool parties, family with small children visiting and having fun. We decided to go ahead and look into getting it fixed up, so we could continue to enjoy it for years to come.
We got 4 estimates, and after speaking with each of the companies and reviewing the estimates, we settled on Aqua Gunite.
Our main point of contact was the salesperson Michael Hopkins. Mike was a pleasure to work with. He initially gave us great advice, a very complete and detailed estimate, a work schedule, and handled small change orders. His price was right on par with other companies (bit better than some, bit higher than others), but the quality of his guidance and thoroughness of the estimate ended up being deciding factors for us. Once work began, we spoke to Sharon at the office mostly about scheduling and she was great to work with as well.
We had a few small issues and delays. Some due to the time the city took to do inspections, which are obviously out of Aqua Gunite's control. The original 3 week estimate endued up taking around 7 weeks, but the crews were punctual, cleaned up nicely after the day's work, and whenever I was home I could see that they were very hard-working. The craftsmanship was superb on all of the work.
There was one minor mishap where a faucet was left on and quite a bit of water was wasted, but we worked it out with Michael and Sergio, the owner and they were very accommodating. And a couple of times where they did not let us know in a timely fashion that someone needed to be home for an inspection, which caused a bit of a scramble to make sure the inspections happened on time. We also would of liked a bit more of a heads up on what we as homeowners needed to take care of for inspections, such as self closing gates and door alarms.
In the end, our 35 year old pool looks brand new and the materials we picked with Michael's help and advice are all beautiful. We couldn't be happier with our old, new pool.
