Customers say: Quick response

"Alan and his team are fantastic and I learned so much about networking and Audio/Video from them! Even though his company title says he does home theater work they actually do a lot more than that. These guys do professional level Audio/Video/Networking related work for big companies, government agencies, and embassies. They are top notch and I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially big businesses!"

"This was one of the best service experiences I have ever had. I had an event the Saturday of the week I called for service, giving the company only 3 days to provide service. Originally they couldn’t fit me in because of a full schedule which was understandable. I advised that I would look elsewhere because of my urgency. However, because the company’s motto is to never lose a customer they rearranged schedule and was able to accommodate me. The two very professional company representatives were on time, pleasant, quick and very PROFESSIONAL!!! It took them less that an hour to do the work. I was so impressed. The job was done in such a professional manner. Everything they moved out of the way to do the jobs was put back in place and they cleaned up after themselves. I cannot give enough accolades to this company and it’s professionals to include Christina who works in the office. I highly and eagerly recommend this company to everyone who need any tv and media work done."

"TL;DR version: CH Telco was very professional. They were able to route difficult cables from my basement to the second floor without need to cut any feeder holes. Their work was immaculate. Long Version: I wanted to wire my entire home with CAT 6 ethernet connected to a patch panel in my basement, and clean up some really shoddy cable wiring done by either a DIY'er or a cruddy cable company tech. I originally envisioned having 10-12 ethernet drops and 2 cable drops; however, after speaking with Charlie it sounded like this work would take two days and cost more than my wife and I had budgeted for. I was able to reduce the size of the job by doing some installation work myself--putting up the server rack and patch panel in my basement utility room--and limiting the scope of work to running drops from the basement to the second floor (so just 5 drops). I also bought my own Cat 6E on Amazon, and ran a few easy to set drops myself in the basement. Charlie and his team were very helpful and understanding, and offered some minor pointers to make sure any pre-work I did lined up with what they needed. They also used the Cat6 cable I purchased for their own runs (I do not recommend this for a novice, I did a lot of research on ethernet cable types. The reason they did this was because I had a lot of cable leftover. CH Telco is a time and materials company, so the savings by using my cable was just the material cost). Charlie's team was able to find the best route for my wiring--next to a return air vent--and did not have to cut any holes other than where the wires terminated as a result. They also cleaned up a mess of cat 6 and coaxial cables in my basement by neatly fastening and tucking them to a board I had mounted to my utility room wall. When they left everything was neat, tidy, and labeled. I would definitely hire CH tel co again if I needed to wire my home for ethernet or add coaxial cable runs."

"We used Fairfax Antenna to install a HD Antenna on our roof so that we could cut our cable and leverage internet services for TV along with the antenna to get local channels. I am writing this review after a month of the antenna being installed to monitor the performance. To date, everything is absolutely wonderful and my channels come in with full signal strength. We had invested in about 3 indoor 50 mile antennas, but they were never consistent no matter where we placed them in the house. The gentlemen were professional, made great recommendations, and we're quick and tidy about their work. I live in the Washington DC area, and we get channels as far as Baltimore in HD. I used the two runs, just in case we needed to split, but we use a product called HDHOMERUN Connect to route the signal through our network. Any TV we have used for accessing local TV, the channels come in sharp and crisp with zero issues. I highly recommend Fairfax Antenna."

"I called Vultron to supply and install a security camera system for our house. Lashaun was very informative over the phone, and we set up the appointment for the installation. Lashaun arrived on time, and got right to work. We also had a substantial landscaping project underway, but Lashaun and his associate Thomas worked around the other workers that were at our house, breaking out the hard hats when tree branches came down near them. After the installation was complete, Lashaun walked my wife an I through the operation of the system until we were familiar with the process. A definite bonus. I am very impressed with the professional look of the camera system and the work done on the installation. There are no visible wires, and the fields of view capture all the entrances to our house. I would recommend Vultron Inc. to friends and family, and intend to call them again for any needs that we have in their areas of expertise."

FAQs for home theater system or media center installation projects in Alexandria, VA

For those on a budget, a home theater system can be installed for as little as $5,000. This simple setup, which doesn’t require professional installation, includes essential components that provide reliable visual and audio performance. It's a budget-friendly way to enjoy movies, TV shows, and live events from the comfort of your home.

Plan to spend at least $70,000 for a high-end home theater. At this price point, you’re paying for advanced components, including flagship projectors, reference-grade speakers, dedicated subwoofers, robust A/V receivers, and professional installation. These features deliver outstanding picture quality, rich surround sound, and a polished finish. Costs climb quickly when you add custom seating, acoustic treatments, and smart-home integration, so ask your installer for a detailed estimate before committing.

The ideal screen size for optimal home theater viewing ranges between 100 and 120 inches. A well-proportioned home theater room measures 24 feet by 15 feet, with a minimum ceiling height of nine feet. However, smaller spaces, such as 15 feet by 20 feet or 10 feet by 12 feet, can also work well. These dimensions enhance acoustics and visual performance, creating an immersive entertainment environment.

A well-built home theater room should last as long as the house, but the electronics inside need periodic attention. Plan to review your equipment every four to five years to see whether new formats, connection standards, or performance upgrades justify a change. Upgrading outdated projectors, receivers, or streaming devices keeps the system running efficiently and prevents compatibility issues, all while protecting the investment you’ve already made in the space.
