"M Review for Slopeside Electric- First of all, I liked the fact that Slopeside Electric was first to contact me and arrange a meeting. They were prompt, efficient and understood my needs. Nick and Andy checked out the problem and gave me options to address it. When we decided on a solution, within my budget, they were quick to fix it! They took the time to listen and answer other questions I had, and I found that they were knowledgeable and up to date in their profession, polite and had a sense of humor, which I appreciated! I will definitely call Slopeside Electric for all of my electrical needs! Thanks Nick and Andy!"

"Work required some repositioning of existing breakers and replacement of others with miniature breakers.  Bill and Matt identified a in worng-branded circuit breaker  (not meant for my brand of panel) and confirmed with me that it should be replaced.  (A previous electrician had down quite a bit of work in the panel separate from this incorrect breaker, but never mentioned the incompatibility.)
Bill and Matt were punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.  The work went very well and was wrapped-up and checked-over in short-time.
I am very pleased as my experience was excellent.

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Alma, CO

Yes, the National Electrical Code mandates GFCI protection for all outdoor outlets. These specialized outlets detect minute current imbalances that could indicate electricity flowing through water or a person rather than the intended circuit. When detected, they automatically disconnect power within milliseconds, providing crucial protection against shock hazards in moisture-prone outdoor environments.

Professional electricians complete straightforward outdoor outlet installations in one to two hours. More complex projects involving lengthy wire runs, wall penetrations, or panel modifications may require several hours to one day or more. DIY installations often take considerably longer due to the learning curve, safety precautions, and potential troubleshooting required.

While installing an outdoor outlet is technically possible for homeowners with electrical experience, it's not recommended as a DIY project. Outdoor electrical installations involve specialized knowledge of weatherproofing techniques, grounding requirements, and electrical codes. Mistakes can lead to serious safety hazards, property damage, code violations, and potential insurance complications. Professional electricians bring expertise that ensures both safety and compliance.
