"Our well stopped working on New Year's Day. I took a look and the QD Control Box smoked. I called a few plumbers and left messages. Hoppers was the first to respond and were able to come out first thing the next day. I had sent pictures of the item that needed to be replaced and they showed up with the part. Whole job took less than a half hour. Very professional & courteous."

"My mothers toilet had been leaking off an on for a couple months. My husband tried to fix, then replaced all in insides of the tank. Just when we thought that worked, again the leaking started coming through the flushing handle. Flooded the bathroom. <br /> My mother has an old dark brown toilet with matching sinks and tub. She was upset that you cant buy that color anymore. After looking around we also found that the base of toilets has changed over the last 20 yrs and are longer, which would mean the toilet would now stick out in the bathroom an extra 6 inches. Ugly and I agree. <br /> I started looking on Angie's list and called the closest one first., and within the hour someone was there, looked at the problem, gave an estimate and explained why it was doing this. He went to the vehicle and came back in the house for another 20 minutes and it was fixed. I couldnt believe all the time we had wasted in hours fixing it, looking and driving around and the possible extra monies that we could of spend buying a new toilet. <br /> When he actually handed me the bill for service, I was shocked, yes shocked with amazement of how LOW the COST was. This company is great and I will always refer and use them in the future. Prompt, curtious, excellent customer care, and their prices are great. It was nice to finally not get taken advantage of in this economy.. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Terri"

"We had roots growing through the pipes stopping up our plumbing. It took my warranty co. 3 weeks and 3 different plumbers to conclude they don't handle root issues. This company came out cleared the roots and also repaired the other slow flushing toilet. He was very thorough in his investigation; We will have them back out with a camera to further review the main "root" of the problem. Very thankful for the prompt and professional assistance."

"As usual, Walter gave me a loaner car at no charge. It was an old Saab, about the same age as mine. He called me the next day with estimates and gave me options for fixing it a a lower cost (but the brakes would work properly but squeak) or higher cost which would allow the brakes to function silently. I chose the latter option.  The car was ready the next day. <br />"

"The whole repair went quite smoothly. The company came out a number of times to do work, but because of PGE power shutoffs, they were obliged to keep returning. Eventually they found the plumbing problem and fixed it in one afternoon. I was very appreciative."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Alta, CA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
