Work was performed on time, included jackhammering out old skimmer from pool deck, installation of new skimmer, patch concrete, cleanup and rebalance pool water. Very pleased with the results."

"I had Paramount come out to give me an estimate on refurbishing my empty swimming pool. It had been leaking water and we emptied it 2 years ago so it was time to either fix it or fill it in.

The estimator/sales guy came exactly on time, discussed the process and the issues he could see and emailed me an estimate later in the day. The only fly in the ointment for this part of the process is that I wrote back and asked him what kind of things typically drove up the price of this type of project (originally slated to be a re-tile and re-plaster job) and he didn't have any. I think he could have but more on that later.

The workers showed up exactly when scheduled and got right to work. They found that much of the plaster had lifted away from the gunnite and they really had to take it all down. They also found about 3 times as many structural cracks as estimated but that had been left open so that was okay. I was disappointed to be hit with the new charge of stripping the pool but Jorge cut me a really generous deal for the cost of the stripping and the extra cracks and I'm pretty sure I got the better end of the bargain. They also found that there were cracks in the corners of the pool and they applied extra rebar and concrete to those areas. They did not charge me more money for those repairs.

The job started on 7/20 and by 7/29 water was flowing into the pool again and it looks great. The crew did a good job of cleaning up and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I recommend Paramount without hesitation."

"The approximate cost was $1300. The guys were nice. But the paint job isn't holding up that well. From the wall were my alarm is when the wall gets touch the paint is coming off. I don't think they did do a primer. It's not holding up I can see were it needs to be touched up in hallway and the laundry room where they painted and same in the kitchen. They were kind of in a hurry so they didn't spend time on prep. That's the kind of comment I will make to future customer. It looks good but they don't do a lot of prep. There were areas that have to be touched up.  It's not even a full year yet. They kind of want to get in and out.  Initially he came in with a price. He verbally gave me quotes for each room and because I am a female. He went outside to his truck to come back with the final bill and it was 3 times than what he said for each room. I say to him I guess I have to give you a not so great review on Angie's List because the quote and the integrity of all that is part of why I use Angie's List. When I said that he called me back and said oh I'm so sorry I don't know what I was thinking. That wasn't the quote I wanted to give you. I am like oh my god if I hadn't said that this guy will be taking me to the cleaners. They were on time. They were professional."

"Vince and his crew were wonderful ? friendly, professional, effective, efficient, and all at a very reasonable rate. Two huge trees were
heavily trimmed and shaped, one smaller tree reduced and reshaped, two very large hedges and assorted shrubs trimmed.  I plan on having Vince do an annual maintenance from now on.

"Horizon was excellent. Kurt was the person who initially came out to see if solar was feasible on my roof. He was extremely thorough and had to do a lot of measuring and computing because I have trees that cause shading on the south side of my house. However he managed to figure out placement of the panels so I would get the best coverage I could year round taking into account angle of the sun and where it would be blocked at different times of day and year. They also did a thorough inspection of the power system in my house and determined where to tap in, what would be needed, and how they would run all the cables. In the process of that, they did find some potentially dangerous sub-standard wiring (too large a gauge for the current pull) in an existing circuit and replaced that for me. The design work for the system was at their offices and it seemed to go fine. There were a few options in some places and they explained the choices to me so that I could make them from an informed place. When they came to install, they were efficient and thorough. The system went in quickly and was up and running smoothly. They had to come back and make a couple of tweaks because the monitoring equipment that comes with the system was not always able to get a reading on the state of the system. This sometimes happens in homes with longer wiring runs or a little more ambient electrical noise and was not in any way caused by Horizon itself. They were very happy to come back twice to try two different ways to deal with the problem. The second fix they made completely solved it and I have had a fully operational solar power system with bullet proof monitoring equipment since then. It has been about six months and I have had no problems at all."

The pool related tasks were of very high quality, but the concrete deck work was sub-par, including excessive cracking, poor color matching and poor quality sealing of concrete that resulted in a lot of white haze on the deck (my guess is that the sealer was drying before they applied it). 

It was very difficult to get hold of anyone who knew what was going on with respect to the schedule.  There was a lot of wasted weeks between activities with no apparent explanations.  Overall, frustrating to work with, though again, the quality of the pool work was great (tile, plaster, plumbing, new equipment install).
