"Having spent considerable years in the home building industry, I’m all too familiar with the need to meet deadlines in order to maintain profits. Even though Josh T and Nick B completed the replacement for all 12 windows within the timeframe I was given, at no time did I notice any craftsmanship shortcuts in order to meet any deadline. On the contrary, I was always impressed with their precision and professionalism they maintained throughout this install. Having personally replaced windows in an older home, once myself and once contracted to someone else, I’m well aware of problems or issues that can arise to complicate any sort of a retrofit job. To say I’m totally satisfied with these new windows as well as Josh and Nick’s professional is a gross understatement. I’d also like to point out that a job like this on an older home could be a dusty dirty mess. That was never the case as Josh and Nick always had drop cloths and an industrial vacuum at the worksite and in use as needed. In my opinion this job was perfect and well worth the money. From sales personnel (Kylee) to the installers, I highly recommend Renewal by Andersen as they far exceeded our expectations. Eric & Karen, Talkeetna Alaska"

"I had called another well-known window company - twice - and never heard back. I then contacted Window Medics who promptly came to the house to inspect the fogged windows, which couldn't be repaired because of the type of window. They gave me a bid to replace all three windows which was reasonable, ordered the windows and then installed them as soon as they arrived."

"Amazing customer service and Lonnie was great when he came out for an estimate. Office staff is always helpful. Found out they also do bathroom glass doors. I will use them every time I have glass issues no matter what it is."

"We hired Josh to remove a pony wall and relocate cabinets to create a peninsula in our kitchen/dining area.  He also completed several projects that we hadn't gotten around to finishing, and they turned out even better than we had hoped.   <br> <br>We were impressed by his can-do attitude and skills.  For example, he didn't just hang the "barn door" style sliding door for the laundry room, but he also added a piece to extend the too-short door that I really wanted to use, and made sure it would operate smoothly by adding a spacer and recessing the screws on the back.  He trimmed out a couple of interior doors and used a corner tool to make sure that the corners would turn out perfect (looks much better than the ones done by the "big box store" crew).  He also did a beautiful job using neodymium magnets to fit panels into a custom desk, fashioning an angled flooring transition strip for an awkward space, and he even fixed the cat's broken scratching post with a leftover scrap of wood.  Now everyone is happy! <br> <br>Josh genuinely seems to enjoy the challenge of figuring out solutions and has the skills and tools to follow through.  He is efficient and personable, and we are looking forward to having him work on more projects in the future. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"Let me start this by saying I have never used this company for glass. However, I will forever be using this company and recommending everyone I know to use it. My car caught on fire on the side of the highway and I’m currently 6 months pregnant. I watched helplessly as the fire got bigger, and Dennis and Newton (part of this company) pulled over so quickly and immediately went to work on putting the fire out. They also made sure I was okay and that I was safe. Because of them, the fire didn’t spread and it stopped at the tire area (where it caught) They then stayed with me until more help arrived. I am beyond grateful for these two men. They are true Alaskans and selflessly acted. I will support them time and time again. Talk about instant service!!!"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Anchorage, AK

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
