"Kelemer Brothers replaced all my windows back in 2012, and I was very pleased with the windows and installation. This week I was cleaning windows and when I went to tilt one of them back up to close it, something snapped and the window wouldn't go back in properly. I contacted Joe and he responded within minutes. He came out later the same evening and within 10 minutes had replaced the broken piece and had everything back to normal. I feel like that's a very impressive level of service, especially since the windows were installed 11 years ago! They're just good, honest people who are a pleasure to work with."

"James came out and gave us an estimate and made recommendations on which design to choose. We had 7 huge windows that needed replacing. We had him do a door before and he did such a great job on it and we got many compliments. He clearly told us the timeline for installation. When the windows came in we had to delay his work because floor installation we had on one room was taking longer than expected. He said no problem and we rescheduled install date. He came out and installed windows and did a great job. Windows look fantastic and everything was cleaned up after the job was complete. We did ask for him to replace window sills as well after noticing the condition. He had no issues changing at last minute. Highly Recommend."

"I wasn't notified when the windows came in, i had to call and inquire. Once the windows were in, there were A LOT of reschedules mostly due to weather. However, the day of installation went very smoothly and the windows are very nice. I felt an immediate difference in the draftiness of my old house. I need other windows replaced so I will probably use them again, just not in the winter."

"We had used American Windows & Siding of VA a year earlier to replace 14 bathroom windows. Just three months ago, we needed to replace four wooden doors which had been rotting. We solicited bids from three companies and found American Windows to be very competitive in their pricing and options for door replacement. After the order was placed, the four steel legacy Provia doors (and three Sunrise Restoration windows) were installed just one month later. The entire job was completed in one day and, once again, the installation team did a fantastic job. We LOVE our new doors and windows! Again, I wouldn't hesitate to hire American Windows & Siding of VA for not only window replacement, but doors as well."

"I contacted numerous window companies to have my original windows (1979) replaced. Thompson Creek was not the least expensive but their product was better than most. Because they make their own windows it takes longer to have them installed (about 2 Months). When the install day came. The lead boss showed up early and taped plastic up all over the house to help with dust and dirt. She vacuumed when she was done and my house was probably cleaner after she left. I have not had any issues with the windows and my house seems warmer."

"It was a great experience, starting with the sales rep, Mary Beth. She listened to our questions and concerns, and then presented us with with a detailed, to the penny quote. No surprises, no pushy sales tactics, no wasting of our time. The installers were competent, professional, and courteous. And most important, the windows are beautiful. We had our first warm winter in our 58 year old house. <br />"

"We recently had Chesapeake Thermal come out to replace 12 windows and 2 patio doors (as well as cap a bay window.) Matt, Nancy, and John were super easy to work with to get a quote on the replacement of our original 30 yr windows. The turnaround time between initial deposit and installation was ~11 weeks; a timeframe likely impacted by the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic. With regard to installation, Sang (and team) did a phenomenal job. They were able to finish most of the install in one day, with some additional capping work finished two days later. The difference in comfort between our original windows and replacements is dramatic. We've noticed our HVAC rarely turning on now, and the comfort across the various levels of our townhome seems to be considerably more stable. We were really impressed from start to end, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Baltimore, MD

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
