"They know the business. We were asked to take pictures of the outside of the house, showing the windows. From this they developed a quote and we agreed to have them do the windows. He arrived on time, was very efficient and did a great job. He suggested a product for us to use to remove mold or mildew from our sidewalks, window wells, etc. We purchased the product from Amazon and it did a great job. We decided to have them back in the Spring to just do the outside of the windows."

"Got windows in July 2023 from Dick Bisher. He baited and switched me. Iwanted sand color to match my Pella windows. He switched to white. On pricing he wrote up contract at $19,000 and when I was ready to sign, he said he pluged in a wrong code, and it now will be almost $22,000. I complained and he said he gave me a $26,000 discount. I had to sing right now or if he came back later the price would go up $4,800. I had a price of $22,000 from Pella. I should have taken the offer from Pella, as they were honest. They showed up on Monday July 10, and be done by wednesday. They had a no show one day, and wrked half days, and on friday they still were not done. I told them up front I was leaving on vacation on Saturday. They had to come back on July 17 to finish. I told installers and called their office Friday and lefe message (they already went home in Cincinnati) that do not charge my card until I get back on July 24. They charged my card July 21. Of the 26 windows they installe, none were clean. There was dirt, caulk and hand prints on all windows. Dirt was in all tracks of windows. Locks did not work on 5 windows. I called them and informed them of this. They were busy and could not get back that week. I cleaned all windows and tracks and fixed locks. BEWARE OF WINDOW WORLDS SHODDY SERVICE!!! No one has replied to me in 21 months!"

"This is the third time we have used Gilkey for replacement windows. We love their windows. The business is very professional and knowledgeable about all things regarding windows. They always stand behind their work in every way. We have had concerns and adjustments which were addressed immediately in such a helpful manner. Each time the need for windows comes up we start the research over again but always realize Gilkey is the best!"

"I previously had all windows in my home replaced by NuVue and was extremely disappointed in the quality of work. I found RWT Windows on Nextdoor and could not be happier! First and foremost, Rick at RWT does not use subcontractors. A window is only as good as the installer, so NEVER use a company that utilizes subcontractors. RWT did a great job at insulating and cleaned up and were very professional. I would highly recommend RWT."

"We needed interior shutters to fit different kinds of windows in an old house. The task required creative solutions to solve problems with old windows and fit the shutters on casement windows without interfering with the mechanisms. The Blinds Etc personnel were knowledgeable and skilled, they had confidence they could do the job, and the shutters fit perfectly. The product is excellent and the service was impeccable. We liked the shutters so much, we had them come back and install shutters in two additional rooms. Highly recommended."

"Extremely well. On his initial visit, Cody Lawton determined that the bottom landing was made of concrete and would be difficult to remove. Instead, on his second visit, Cody significantly extended the landing with wood providing a large enough area for the chairlift to rest. It was then necessary to contact a carpet repair person to cover this renovated landing with extra carpet that I had."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Cincinnati, OH

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
