"Very well. I was skeptical at first but Mr Miller put me at ease by sending his information and was very transparent. He said he would be at the location at a specific time, and was. Mr. Miller did a great job staining and keeping me informed of his progress through sending pictures and calling me. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will be using him again for my future projects."

"I purchased a home, and the seller had hired Structural Fix to perform some work a few years prior to transaction. I had questions and they came out, inspected the property, and didn't even try to sell me anything. Highly recommend!"

"Pete Duda great job. He removed a large wood stove and large platform of brick it was sitting on. He installed an electric fireplace insert. He was very considerate in covering furniture and cleaning up all debris. I am enjoying my new fireplace. I highly recommend Pete . He is a professional and a true craftsman."

"Hail damage occurred in March of this year and I contacted Braswell Construction as well as 2 other local roofing companies. Chris Gaugler contacted me asap and came out to the house. The other two roofing companies I never heard back. Braswell Construction contacted my insurance company and worked out all the details. A week later I had a brand new roof with gorgeous colored shingles. Everyone in the neighborhood stopped by and literally knocked on the door to inquire. Chris Gaugler was onsite and available for questions anytime to the very end. The crew only took one day to do the house, extended 4 car garage and well house. Photos attached and it really makes a difference."

"I purchased a high quality and well known brand "smart" water heater at our local big box store. During the purchase process I requested installation of the new water heater as well. The store boldly advertises that if you buy before noon it will be installed that day. No such luck. I was given an installation appointment the next day. It was a four hour block of time that someone would inform me that they were on the way to install the water heater. No call came and no technician showed to make the installation. I called and voiced my dissatisfaction and was given the same four hour window the next day. Again, no call and no technician. I refused the offer for another appointment and instead called A&G Plumbing and Remodeling having seen their name and phone number online while waiting for the big box stores promised service technician that seemed to be unable to fit me into the schedule or find my house or use a phone. My single call to A&G Plumbing and Remodeling resulted in a scheduled installation at a precise time, a call from a highly knowledgeable and polite technician to determine the scope of work. The technician requested a picture of the installation location with the existing plumbing and water heater in the shot and a picture of the box label for the new water heater. The pictures were provided. After studying the pictures he called us back and patiently explained that he would pick up the required parts based on the information we had provided him through the pictures and he would see us at the appointed time. True to his word he arrived and got right to work removing the old water heater and preparing the existing plumbing to accept the new water heater. Upon un-boxing the new water heater he discovered that it had apparently received a hard enough blow at some point to dent the outer case in several places and make the operational capability of the computer components questionable. He advised me to return it and while I was doing that he would begin work on the new water filter system we had added to the service request. He loaded the new water heater in my truck and strapped it in securely. I called the big box store and informed them of my situation and informed them that I was on my way to return the water heater. They agreed to have one ready for pickup. The exchange was uneventful as was my return trip to my house. The A&G technician unloaded the water heater, removed it from the box, inspected it and placed it in position. The hookup of the new water heater went quickly thanks to his thorough preparation. The water filtration system with its isolation valves and new water lines looks wonderful and was conveniently positioned to make owner servicing an easy task. The thoughtful technician even fashioned a holder for the filter wrench to keep it handy to the user but out of the way between filter changes. We found A&G Plumbing and Remodeling to be a caring, considerate, and customer satisfaction oriented company staffed with highly skilled and capable service technicians with high work standards and delivering quality service."

"I had a brand new heat pump system installed in April 2023. They sent subcontractors to install it who were very unprofessional and they left bare wires hanging out of the machine and it did not look like it was installed correctly. It stopped working completely 4 times in 5 months, the last time was on October 10, service tech said, “I really don’t agree with the way they installed it “ he said the wires were barely connected so it kept losing power. He got it working again and left. Two weeks ago it got cold and we turned the system to heat for the very first time. It blew cold air. We made ANOTHER service call. The technician said that a switch had “gone bad” because, “they wear out” we explained that we have never used the heat even once, so how could the switch be worn out. Then they advised they had to order a part. Over a week later the part came in and they returned and that still didn’t fix. Now they say the compressor has, “gone bad” and when we reiterated that we have never even used it so how is it worn out they answered, “they just go bad sometimes” we still don’t have heat, they say they have to order more parts. We asked them to look over the whole system because we don’t think it is installed right and I am genuinely concerned that it is a fire hazard and they looked at it, put electrical tape on some hanging wires and left. We have had to take SIX days off work so far and buy space heaters and we are no closer to having a working system. This unit is less then SIX MONTHS OLD. At this point I have no choice but to pursue legal action. This whole experience has been terrible and has cost me hundreds in missed time at work and I’m still paying for a system that does not work."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Aragon, GA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
