"Family Christian Doors did a great job! My garage door spring broke on a Sunday. I could not open the garage door to get my car in. A storm with hail was predicted. I called Family Christian Doors and they came out to my house in Coppell TX within a few hours. Trevor Peters quickly fixed the torsion spring. I was able to get my car in the garage before the storm. Trevor was great. He explained what broke and how they would make the repair. He also performed a complete garage door inspection and review to let me know what items were still good and what items had wear. I really appreciate them helping me on a Sunday. Great Service!"

"Great response, service tech arrived quickly. Cost to fix slipped cable and adjust door in excess of $300, for 15 minutes work and no parts. Cannot see any improvement in gaps around door. Do not feel cost matched effort or end result, would not hire again but would seek former quotes for services."

"I had the best experience with Wilco Overhead Door Company! My garage door stopped working out of nowhere, and they came out the same day to fix it. The technician was super friendly, explained everything clearly, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything I didn’t need. They got the door working perfectly again — it’s quieter and smoother than it’s ever been. The price was very reasonable too. It’s such a relief to find a company that’s honest, fast, and truly cares about their customers. If you ever need garage door repair, don’t hesitate to call them — they really go above and beyond! "

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Arlington, TX

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
