"Freedom Heating & Cooling has been servicing my house and 3 rental properties for the past few years. This time, I had a technician come to check on the furnace in my new rental property as my tenant was receiving high electriity bills. The technician was great. He looked very comfortable working with the electric furnace and was extremely patient while he investigated the possible causes. I enjoyed working with him tremendously. However, my tenant just now received an extremely high electricity bill again, and I contacted the office, not to complain at all, but to have the furnace serviced again. The lady who answered my call (I usually talk with Mike - he's also great!) was so nice and patient while I explained all detailes and to my surprise, she offered to send a technician again ASAP for free. I was fully ready to pay for this service call and did not expect they to offer that level of customer service. I've always been satisfied with them, but now I know why they have been awarded Angie's List SUPER SERVICE AWARD. I paid $479 for the previous service call (over 2 hrs and a new thermostat installation). My return appointment is tomorrow morning. "Everything went great from the estimate with Ed to the installation with Wesley and Matt. They were friendly and knowledgeable. It was not an easy installation. I was very pleased with the result. They had respected my property and even called in a roofer to properly vent the system through the roof. They even installed my smart thermostat. I would use them again. Previously, there was electric heat on the second floor. Other companies balked at giving me a solution for gas but they had no problem running the line upstairs. Goodby high electric bills!"

"I have lived in my home for over 23 years and have used several different Heating and Air companies thru the years... I needed service in Sept 2018 and had various coupon prices of $39 and $49 for an A/C tune up and was about to chose on of them but decided to check Angie's list for a review or google for the coupon companies. That is when I found American Family HVAC and started to read their reviews.. For some reason, I decided to use this company even tho the cost was a bit more money and boy am I ever happy that I went with my hunch. Sometimes it is NOT always about the money. I was really looking for an A/C furnace company that I could count on and use regularly. Not only was the repair gentleman that came out, on time and very thorough and professional but he spent a long time and I feel that I received the most thorough tune up that I have ever had. Josh, the service tech was just a delight and the best part was that this company has a membership contract that I was able to purchase. It is a small monthly charge monthly and . I get 2 free tune-ups a year included in the monthly fee for NO charge and if I need any service work I get 20% off of the charge and same day service...all for only $12.95 a month. What a wonderful idea and I cannot express how happy I am with this choice. It is a win-win deal for me and the company. I am a very happy camper with my choice of this company."

"These guys are great! We have an yearly maintenance contract with them for our AC and hot water boiler. They are professional and do great work! They are also very responsive as issues arise. Our older hot water radiator system went down on a Saturday night. I called Maggie and and Bob (one of the owners) was out Sunday morning and repaired our unit. They also installed a new hot water heater recently. Highly recommended!"

"<p>Thanks to JML, our holidays were warm and cozy for the first time in years.</p> <p>JML were responsive, timely and diligent, working long and uncomplainingly in our 3D (dank, dirty and dismal) basement.  They were consistently professional and congenial, and they were even nice to our big, hairy dog.</p> <p>JML, after completion of the job, returned to our home to patiently babysit me through a false alarm.  They returned once again to perform some additional work that could have been considered outside the scope of the written contract.  On neither occasion did JML levy an additional charge.<br /> <br /></p> <p>JML were honorable, which is something I don't get to say much anymore.  Their primary commitment was to customer satisfaction, as opposed to being primarily committed to wresting every possible dollar out of their helpless customer.  (If it's late November in Chicago and you have no heat, you're certainly at the mercy of the heating guys.)</p> <p>JML were the best contractors we've ever had and, since our house is over a hundred years old, you can bet that we've had quite a few.</p> <p>Because I recently noticed that my original review was somehow lost in transmission and did not post, I have the opportunity to say that our heating system continues to hum along very nicely, and that it worked perfectly throughout last week's "polar outbreak."  The house was cost-savingly cool in the lesser and/or rarely used areas, and delightfully warm in the others.</p> <p>If I worked at it I still couldn't come up with a single complaint against JML.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p>  tir <br />"
