"Mr. Ellison did a great job fixing my bathroom floor. I am very happy with his work. He was very nice. Let me know what needed to be fixed and how much the material would cost. Was excellent with clean up after the job was finished."

"Pete was amazing. He demoed the existing chimney brick, and replace with all new brick once the chimney was rebuilt and properly supported. Pete arrived on time every day, he completed the work timely and did a very high quality job. I would hire Pete again in a second and without any hesitation! Quality, professionalism and respect are qualities you can expect from Pete."

"It was great working with Brian, Tom, and their crew. They replaced the roof on our patio as well as installed new gutters. They were upfront, easy to work with, and did exactly what we discussed. All of it was at a fair price as well. Highly recommend them if you're looking for genuine people that also know what they are doing!"

"Wayne built a and quot;Guest House on my property for my 90 year old mother. The house is adorable and very well made. He put a lot of thought into it. All is wheel chair accessable(for future). Cabinets were lowered since Mom is under 5 ft.I It's light and airy, plenty of windows, and electrical outlets. He even insulated under the house. The porch is sturdy with pressure treated timbers. He put a very pretty, sturdy, rail, Should she fall, she'll have somthing to grab that will hold her. There's two celing fans on the porch. He used top quality products: He did not skimp where it would not be noticed. The house is done except for the final inspection. I hate to see him leave because he has become like familly. <br /> <br /> Marilyn Gossett/David Roquemore <br /> 706-629-0646"

"Ricky Boger and his crew are the best in the low country. Hurrican Matthew put a sixty foot pine tre through our home. Superior Home Improvement came to the rescue and truly went above and beyond to bring our house back to better than new condition. They completely remodeled a bathroom, removing a tub and installing a custom walk I shower. It turned out fantastic. They handled everything for plumbing and electrical to paint and flooring. Ricky Boger is a man of integrity who does what he says he is gonna do when he says he is gonna do it."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Armuchee, GA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
