"Excellent work! This company is for customers who prioritize hiring a licensed, reliable, and experienced contractor who is a true craftsman. Hired initially for a small shutters task and we were so impressed with Mr. Allen Metcalf’s knowledge and work that we had had ARM’s Home Improvement back for more projects: new windows (not replacements), new outer doors (including extended slider), crown molding, custom work on interior french doors, moving an outdoor spigot, and some small handy-person tasks. They work quietly, cleanly, and independently. They explain their work thoroughly and I was 100% comfortable having them in my home. Highly recommend."

"Bill is simply AMAZING. He was prompt with his reply to my Angi request, super accommodating when plans got put on hold, was very reasonable with his prices and absolutely did a fantastic and fast job at fixing my home to be able to sell. Super friendly, and time conscious and takes obvious pride in his work. Thanks Bill, for an amazing job, if we didn't move so far away, we'd definitely hire you again! Highly recommend Bill and Smithwright Home Improvement!!"

"“I strongly recommend JW Home Improvement for all home repair and renovation needs. Over the past few weeks we have had various projects completed, including, exhaust fan installation, stairwell repair, dry wall repair, exterior dormer and trim replacement and gutter/downspout painting. All of the technicians were friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, respectful, highly skilled and operated efficiently to finish ahead of scheduled time. Pedro, Kevin and Antonio in particular were exceptional in going above and beyond to produce truly beautiful work. The craftsmanship and precision displayed by these technicians was extraordinary and they were an absolute pleasure to have in my home.”"

"

Omar and his general contractor were great to work with.  They were very flexible with us as we wanted to make our own purchases for some of the materials- we made several mistakes when procuring certain items (trying to select the correct shower base and doors), and they worked with us to find solutions.  In addition, I had some space use challenges and asked them to come up with solutions- even though they are not advertised as designers they showed themselves capable of dealing with these challenges and produced very good built-ins.

Here's an anecdote: the general contractor, Juan Carlos, was working on one of the bathrooms when he noticed a leak in the ceiling.  He realized the upstairs toilet was leaking and went out to the hardware store to pick up a new part and fixed it without bothering me (nor did it show up on the invoice).

They are truly pros at paint and drywall, it all looks seamless.

We LOVE both our new bathrooms, and their pricing was extremely reasonable considering how much work they put into this job.  Unbeatable, really.  I would contract with Omar again in the future.

"Gomez Contractor provided a fair quote for roughly 75 feet of drywall, framing, tile, painting, and baseboard repair. They did and excellent job and they were flexible with my schedule. I will definitely use them for any future projects."

"Over the past few years, my wife, Divine, and I have been mulling about getting our kitchen and master bedroom bathroom remodeled as they both need some serious updating. In October of 2017, we finally decided to go for it and go through the usual procedure of getting at least 2-3 bids for the projects, as they involve some serious dollars (for us, at least). The first bidder (we won't name it) was a big disappointment. The company representative that came did not seem to have the enthusiasm or energy to really help us out on a strategy as to the hows, whats, and whens involved in a major project. Besides the price quoted being ridiculously high, the choices in material was somewhat limited. Next, came VKb. Joe and Gail came to our house to do their thing. Both were very professional in their approach, took time to discuss things with us, and most of all, we felt comfortable dealing with them. Thus, VKB ended up the second and last bidder for our projects. The VKB personnel’s demeanor got us sold. The projects got underway in November for which Ferhat was assigned as the project manager. He was professional and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the projects, made himself readily accessible for any questions we have had over the course of the projects and he would avail himself whenever we wanted him on site for any project-related reason. He remained on top of things from day one and all throughout the progression of the projects. I am a very detail oriented person (to the point of being a pain in the rear at times) and there were times when some things seem out of place or I want them done a certain way, Ferhat always made sure that they got done without sacrificing safety and within standards. The work crew provided by VKB was outstanding. They were courteous, meticulous in their work, and tried as much as possible to prevent dust and debris from getting all over the house. They treated me and my wife with respect and they did the work as if they were working on their own houses. If I had another house that needed these types of remodeling, I would never settle for another work crew, If I could afford it, I would pay them a retainer just so they are available to work for me at anytime. Our experience with VKB has been nothing short of wonderful. Thank you to Joe, Gail, David, Hermes, Alonzo, Horatio, Marvin, Juan, Johnny, Emerson, and everyone else involved in these projects. Our very special thank you to Ferhat, who made things happen the way they did and made my wife’s day and mine."

"John’s crew did an outstanding job replacing our old window wells. We had landscaped the area around the wells several years back. They meticulously removed the decorative stone and covered our flocks during the excavation. Once the new wells were installed they moved all the stones back and hauled all of the excess soil away. Our flocks survived the entire ordeal and look great. They finished the project in only a few hours! I highly recommend this company for any home project."

"This was a top to bottom complete renovation of my house. All work to be done was described in well written project proposals. I have lived in my house since 8/1/1972. Over the years I have had workers here to do some renovations and repairs. Matthew Willis of Willis Builders, the Project Manager Marcelo Gomes, and all the workers that came to my house were very professional. I am very, very pleased with the outcome of this renovation. My house is better than brand new only because I was fortunate to have Willis Builders do this renovation."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Ashton, MD

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
