"I was very satisfied with the Rogers Basement Waterproofing work. I had several estimates done by other companies that were proposing a drainage system that is not optimal (there are several YT videos where their "patented system" is just ripped off since it does not work). Moreover, these companies do not take into account the fact that my basement is finished (I have a family room, bathroom, and two offices in the basement) and they just offer to destroy everything and let you rebuild it on your own afterwards. Paul was very considerate, installed only the internal drain where it was needed. I was surprised how clean they were (the job is messy, involves breaking the cement basement floor, digging the trench, filling it with gravel and drain pipe, installing the sump pump and pipes to connect to the storm sewer outside). The team was very efficient and organized, covered all the "traveled areas" with foil, and cleaned after their work. It took them 2 days during January, and I no longer have water problem. They are not "the cheapest" (but only a few hundred bucks more expensive than my least expensive estimate from other companies), but they did an excellent work. They do not push you with marketing techniques. Paul just said "If you are interested, just call us and if you want recommendations I can show you hundreds of them, since I did a lot of work in this are". I actually did not need then, since he was recommended by our friends that were very satisified with their work. I wholeheartedly recommend them."

"It went great. Tim was very friendly and gave a good estimate. He even came back to talk over the work with my dad. Larry and Brian were always at my place early. They are both hard workers. Larry was very considerate like when he asked if I wanted used gravel in the low areas of my driveway. He was very patient waiting for other contractors who needed to do work before he could move forward."

"They were able to finish the whole project in a little over 3 weeks. They picked up the phone whenever I called, answered patiently all my questions, and gave me a good advice on top of that. The foundation took one day. Ten days to cure the concrete. Two days to lay blocks. Then there was a holiday. One day to build roof and another day for roof siding, door, and cleaning of the site. One lock hole was drilled in a non-standard distance in between 2+3/8" and 2+3/4". I want to exchange the deadbolt but can use only adjustable deadbolts because of that. However, the one that was installed there is functional.Solid work, great value for the money. I will hire them again soon."

"It was good, but it took them forever to get it done -- about 7 months. I know they had to order the stone from overseas, but I had to keep calling and following up with them to learn the status of my stone. The work itself was great, and he did call me after the installation to make sure I was happy."

"The owner, Matt Anderson, was great to work with. He came and priced it out and gave me an estimate. He was able to work quickly to get us on the calendar. It was a week-long project. The crew was very good to work with and they explained what they were doing. They gave us examples of things to look out for if we had any further concerns and responded to any of our questions. They explained the rationale and process they were using. They included us in making the decisions and wanted to make sure that we were comfortable with moving forward with the rest of the project after the excavation. There were some damages because of the machinery they used and they purchased replacement pieces, which was appreciated."

"Alltek completed the mold remediation for me today and installed plastic in both of my crawl spaces. I can't wait to get the final pictures from them to upload here so you can see what difference their treatment made for my houses. I WAS SHOCKED at the results of the remediation that they provided. They showed up to the job early (which doesn't happen very often) and got right to work. They completed both jobs in ONE DAY and the crawl space is now the cleanest and most attractive in the entire neighborhood, I'm sure. The wood of my floor joists and the walls of the crawl space are immaculate and look BRAND NEW. Not only is the mold gone, but the dirty dingy look of an almost 100 year old home's crawl space has completely vanished. Understand something about mold remediation people, not all companies are created equal. Alltek offers a superior service at a fair price and will leave you feeling like you've truly treated the problem, not just covered it up. I would highly recommend Tommy and Alltek Environmental Services for any kind of mold treatment. <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Athens, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
