"Direct Services team was very responsive in answering my request. Our service technician was Seth and he provided excellent service. He is professional, friendly and a good communicator about our repair options and about status. We had additional challenges without hot water as a very ill family member is staying w us. Seth worked to ensure we were returned to service as soon as possible. Thank you Seth!"

"I have been a customer of Doc Savage Heating and Air Conditioning since the mid-1900s. From the office personnel to the servicemen there has always been an extensional sense of family, friendliness, professionalism, and caring. There is much more to be said about this group than their expertise and services. During the Pandemic toilet tissue was offered and delivered to clients when, or if, needed. In addition, Crystal (office manager) called periodically to ask if I was ok and if I needed anything. Joe, the owner, is actively aware of and contributes to our community. NEVER has there been pressure to purchase equipment. If something needs attention the servicemen will inform me, suggestions are given yet the decisions are mine without any pressure. Trust, friendliness, punctuality and professionalism are synonymous with Doc Savage Heating and Air Conditioning."

"I've had work done several times by this company: including a bunch of faucet replacements last summer, and very recently an unexpected water heater replacement--on a Sunday, yet. Their pricing has always been completely reasonable and fair, and the work always completed efficiently and carefully. The recent water heater replacement was difficult and messy due to the condition the heater was in--and the two technicians working with it remained calm, cheerful and courteous throughout--even with my annoying little dog yapping in the background. They installed a new heater and drip-pan, corrected the horrendous drip-pan installation that had been done long ago by another company, sealed spaces that little critters could crawl through, and finished with a meticulous clean-up job. I keep going back to this company because I trust the work they do, and recommend them without any reservation."

"Incredibly great work. Jamie and his staff were prompt in getting my cast iron coated and sealed. He was very kind and caring about our situation (stopped working at 7pm one night so that the kids could go to bed since what he was doing was making quite a bit of noise). He made sure things were cleaned up when finished. I was very thankful of how he was walking us through the process of what he was doing to the pipe. Helped my wife and I understand the steps it took to get the cast iron usable again. I would 100% recommend this company to anybody in the CSRA."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Augusta, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
