Small jobs welcome

"Job done right when right was needed, 99 degrees out when the AC went down. This was our 3rd time using Southern Company. It had been hot out for several weeks and I am sure lots of people needed AC work. I called and Wayron the installed was at our house within 4 hours, found the problem within minutes, fixed it and he was on his way to the next house."

"I could smell the odor of gas coming from the fire place where we have gas logs. I looked up plumbers on Angie's list and call Affordable plumbing as this company had good reviews. I was told someone could come out that day between 1 and 3 PM. <br /> James called around 11:30 and said he was in the area could he come out now and we told him yes, this is a good time. <br /> He checked the fire place and couldn't find a leak although you could smell gas. He went under the house and found the union connection leaking and a bend in the gas line. He recommended the line be replaced with a flexible line which he did. This is an older home and the gas logs were probably put in by the previous owner using copper tubing and the gas turn on/off is in the firebox. James suggested this service be changed out in the future using different type of gas line and a on/off switch outside the fireplace. We'll do that in the future and since we rarely use the fireplace (Christmas day) so we opted to have him cap off the gas line. <br /> While he was under the house we asked him to looking under the guest bathroom to see if there was a leak as we could detect a moldy smell sometimes in this bathroom. He found 2 small leaks under the toilet and bath tub where they connect to the drain pipes. Since we are going to have the bathroom renovated in the near future he suggested we wait as the leak was minor. <br /> James was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He explained the problems in an easy manner. <br /> The work is guaranteed for 90 days and the company accepts the major credit cards and checks. <br /> We will definitely call this company again for our future plumbing needs. <br />"

"Needed to replace an existing Air Conditioning and HVAC unit. The 9 Seer HVAC unit was 27 years old and the 11 SEER AC unit was 15 years old but using heating strips to heat the house in the winter. The heating strips had burned out and the cost of running these units were mounting. I decided it was time to get new units. After researching various units, I found that the Amana units had a great rating and a lifetime warranty on all parts. 10 year labor warranty. This warranty is the best in the business. After having a few different guys come over and explain the work that they proposed, I felt most comfortable with A-1 Hobbs as they actually talked about removing all of the old equipment. The guys were very knowledgeable and proficient. They had the downstair's AC unit's out and replaced in less than a day. The upstairs unit was replaced in two days. <br /> <br />The thermostat was one that talked to both the outside and airhandler unit. The thermostat told me that there was an issue that needed the guys to come back out. I called and they promptly came back out and quickly realized that the problem was not on their end but with the electrical. They told us of the problem and fixed it with no charge. This is a small company that works hard to please the customer. I would highly recommend these guys for a replacement. <br /> <br />"

"The workers were flawless, and managed to put two new vents in our home although it was beyond the call of duty and very difficult.  We love our new system.  The salesman didn't just sell, he came to see how the men were doing during the install, and even inspected the job afterward.  The workers covered all traffic areas with heavy cardboard and tarps, and my home seemed even cleaner after they left.  I would recommend Doc Savage as the go to service company for any heating/cooling. <br />"

"Rob is an excellent and HONEST professional. He tells you from the get go what to expect. He will not and quot;blow smoke up your dressand quot;...if it can't be fixed and fixed properly he won't fix it! PERIOD. He told me when he got here - this is either going to be $85 OR $265.00 if a shower cartridge has to be replaced. Luckily for me - this was an easy fix...but I was fully prepared for the worst should it happen. If you want someone that is going to treat you fairly, do quality work, show up when he says he's going to...call CSRA Plumbing. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Augusta, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
